Most people like the game. Just look at it's sales numbers, and how many people still play it.

This website just has a lot of haters.

I just don't like how Call of Duty in general has become a stereotype among gamers. Every person whom I tell that I play video games, the first thing they say is "Oh, so you play Call of Duty?"

The Game itself isn't horrible, it's just unbalanced and buggy. You just have to have players who won't abuse it.

And the community isn't awful (at least no more than what you saw in MW1), as long as the game is balanced, there's not much they can do to f*** it up.

See the problem?

Taken in isolation, the two aspects aren't game-enders, but when you combine a glitchy, unbalanced game with the type of people who will exploit the hell out of it, you get a game that no decent player wants anything to do with.

Both.

The people are a bunch of foul mouth racist morons.

The game is a poorly coded piece of unbalanced crap that can't get host selection right on the peer to peer network, has a gimped PC version so that console fanboys don't get all pissy that their version isn't as good, a stupidly short 5 hour campaign (this game should be sold as an expansion) and over priced DLC. (1200MS for 3 new maps and 2 CoD4 maps? Fuck you!)

downloaded the game, played the singleplayer campaign through 2 times and uninstalled and deleted it after... never wanna touch the MP :) simply because i dont think it can live up to MW1 and then the perks in the MW series are way to overpowered.. why i play BFBC2 instead... no lame perks *sigh*.. and yes... one of my friends is a huge fanboy of MW2.. so.. yeah that pretty much tells it.. and for the noobtubing.. it exists in BFBC2 aswell :/

but in the end.. im just waiting to get my hands on Battlefield 3.. no game has yet even come close to the battlefield franchise (not the bad company.. its okay... but nothing compared to the original) 1942, 2, 2142... just awesome :) and hope the third will be awesome ^^.

Lol what a great marketing scheme that was, "hey you know what I'd like to do in my BRAND NEW version of this game? Play the old versions map....and pay for it too."

I enjoyed MW1 quite a lot. Even before the glitches and exploits were found I had determined MW2 was simply a retread of its predessecor so decided not to buy it. There's no use, I could just play MW1 and be done with it.

And then the storm of madness began, completely validating my earlier trepidation. MW2 was revealed to be the inferior cash in on a succesful game. Why so many people continue to play it is beyond me.

Though, as a fighting game player I find balance to be quite important and glitches like the ones present in MW2 are to me absolutely game-breaking.

The game.

I can't believe anything so broken is so bloody popular.
I, on the other hand, can.... and I think that majority of the populatiry comes from the fact that its a "Call of Duty" game (much like how a final fantasy game automaticly gets a 10/10 on all the video game websites), and it's the one made by Infinity Ward because the rest of the world despises Treyarch.

I notice so many video gamers have become so stuck up much like the people of the music industry who listen to old-school bands that have been around for longer than 10 years. Majority of gamers will suck a fat one for Call of Duty, Final Fantasy, Halo, and anything with more than 2 successful title releases; while we have our radio industry who are currently on the nuts of Metallica (despite still having people take a shit on their chest for St Anger), Disturbed, Sevendust, etc.

I'm growing weary of all the repetitive gaming over and over again and wish I could find something different and fun, and not have to pay any more than $10 for it. You can tell me about all the indie games and stuff, having tried out a lot of demos, most of them just don't cut it for me.

Both the game and the people.

GAME: I'm upset about the game because of a couple of very unrealistic things; the heartbeat sensor, which doesn't exsist in real life, the fact that the ACR is so bloody accurate that it might as well be shooting a laser beam, and spawning right under an airstike/predator missle. As well as a few other things but bringing those up would be nit-picking.

PEOPLE: Hmm, where to begin on this?...Ah yes, people who quick scope piss me right the fuck off; if you do this I hate you already, shotgunners or people who run around with nothing but the shotgun, people who scream and shout in their mics for no other reason other than they want to be heard, people who use aimbots, and people who have X-ray vision. Yeah, I said X-ray vision; I swear, last night these people were killing me so fast that they had to looking through walls. I was going to say noob-tubin' but I'm guilty of that myself using the RPG.

Overall though, I do like the game and I'll be playing it until Black Ops comes out.

Have to disagree with TF 2. People who get more achievements unlock new weapons (a great way to discourage team play as if just people abandoning their team to get the achievements for their own sake wasn't enough), not to mention the more you play the more hats you gets, some of which bost stats.

OT: The reason people complain about MW2 is the multiplayer is broken, simple is that. Also, I've never once seen the host migration work.
Ahh thanks for the info. My experience with the game had been limited to the 360 Orange Box release and I didn't play it much. I had just assumed that with the different classes / counter classes it would be fairly balanced. Shame on Valve for giving veteran players more advantages than they already have. At least they weren't selling game play advantages like NHL :).

I think it's a fun game, nothing ground-breaking but it's enjoyable to play with your mates and it doesn't matter the single player is over-the-top, its a VIDEOGAME, it's not meant to be realistic!

Um, actually...yeah they are. You can also buy the new hats and guns now, and new paint jobs too. At least you can't buy unlimited stat boosts; you can only wear one hat.

Hmm, ok... that's not so bad though. That's more like a perk system then, but still... shame for selling better perks.

I love MW2, it's great fun.

BUT:

a) The multiplayer system is shit, a rediculous number of hackers combined with piss-poor connection speeds.

b) A larger then average percentage of players are fucktarded.

c) Grenade launchers.

That's called wallhacking, if anything there's far more of them then aimbotters.

I find it somewhat ironic though when someone complains about shotguns yet uses the RPG.

I enjoyed playing it, and so did most people. It's not unbalanced, people with a bit of an anger problem just blow it way out of proportion. People only look at the bad things and not the good things...
