It's only sexist because of the way you worded it.
It makes it sound like it would be ok if a guy payed for you, but not a girl.

You really need to re-touch your lines before getting into anymore situations like these..

It depends. It isn't because they are in fact girls, and they probably would be more offended if you addressed them as "a group of boys". However it might be considered so because of the implied condescension...

Anyway, that's not even close to sexist in correct terms. Those girls are just being idiots.

If you exclude someone or injure someone because of gender, that is sexist. However, wanting to pay your own admission? Not even related.

It wasn't sexist...but no, it wasn't very intelligent.

"No, thank you." would have sufficed. And if they wouldn't hear of it, just keep repeating it; they listen after they realize your attention isn't on their chest.

And yes, I realize that /is/ sexist, but...call it due to personal-experience.

This is where it is sexist, if you had said guys, or ladies shouldn't pay for a man (better chivilary tone), then it wouldn't have been sexist. Byt I know you weren't being intentionally sexist.

I just got in a heated argument with some female friends of mine about not having money to go to s local haunted house. So they offered to pay my admission fee. Without thinking I replied "I'm not letting a bunch of girls pay my admit ion." That was a mistake. Now I have three angry girls riding my ass about how sexist I am.

I tried to inform them that I was only trying to be polite, chivalrous even, but they wouldn't take it. So now I've turned to internet for my answer.

Edit: I do have to admit that I probably said it at a bad time. It was mid argument after I had refused a few times. They asked why and so I said in a flash of anger and trying to get back to my video games as fast as possible ( this conversation was over AIM) I just typed in that in the 15 seconds of spawn time.
It was very sexist. If I were those girls I'd be fuming.

You're implying in that statement that there's something negative about girls paying for you.

The fact that you didn't mean for it to come out that way and it just kinda slipped out in the heat of the moment makes it FAR, FAR WORSE. Why? Because it means that your sexism is something which exists for you on an immediate, subconscious level, your sexism is so completely ingrained in your personality that it's at the point where it's something that you just DO without even thinking about it first. It's not like you premeditated it - it just happened naturally. That's something you should be very concerned about.

Also - three girls want to take you to a haunted house, and you said no?!? Are you for real? Dude, give me their phone numbers, I'll go with them...
It's not just three girls there is a large group. On topic, I see were you're going (kind of) with the subconsciousness and stuff but you're way over thinking it. Maybe you're one of those people who take 10 to think about every word or action they take before making it and you've never said anything without thinking through every possible out come ever in your entire life, but I doubt. I'm not sexist no matter what kind of psychologist you want me to send me too. It just slipped out. There's not hidden "Oh crap maybe I really am sexist" it's just plain and simple slip of the tongue.

This is three 14 year old girls we're talking about. They're very persistent.

if someone said "I'm not letting a bunch of blacks pay my admission", would that be racist?
Yes it's racist but in this case it was trying to be chivalrous. I'm tempted to put a "Is Chivalry still worth it" poll up.
intent is irrelevant. actions are what matter.

but was it really chivalrous? you said you were in the middle of an argument and you were getting annoyed with them.

Sure I was being annoyed but that doesn't change the fact that I was trying to be polite. I've got a bad habit of being polite in the middle of an argument. So yeah I was angry but I was trying to be the better person at the same time.

No it wasn't sexist, it also wasn't very tactful. Us women get offended for the silliest reasons.
I find that Offensive!

"Woman" is an old archaic term coined by the Male bourgeoisie, and as such shouldn't be used by an advanced society.

Please use the word "Soul Blossoms" from now on.
I can't. It makes us sound like powerups and therefor objects
Why do you think I find the term "woman" offensive? I'm a man.

+1 Soul Blossoms have been humanised for TOO LONG, no more I say! Back into the bag of holding you go!

What a 'slip of the tongue' really is, is when you bypass the conscious rational part of your mind that and say truly what you think deep inside without the usual vetting process that goes on in your brain to filter out the socially unacceptable stuff before your mouth speaks it. Then your conscious mind kicks in a bit after that and goes "oops, shouldn't have said that...". Slips of the tongue like that simply don't happen unless you already have a sexist subconscious. If something like that just slips out, you are sexist. Period.

It's okay. We're all a little sexist sometimes, we're a product of our society after all. Just admit to it. Admission is the first step to actually dealing with the problem.

You epic failed.

You might as well said "No because I consider you to be beneath me and I hope you don't piss on me if I'm on fire."

You chose the wrong words. Maybe you should have said "No thankyou, I don't want to see it that badly that I would take someone else's money." and left it at that

By the way, why didn't you want them paying for you? Too much testosterone?

I always wondered what life as a powerup would be like and now I get to find out.

It wouldn't have been sexist IF you would have said the same thing to a boy however as this is not the case ill just move on. There is a VERY fine line between chivalry and sexism, at least there is for girls.(the whining twats) honestly i tried holding the door open for one like i do EVERY F*CKING TIME a girl wants to go through a doorway and i basically ended up getting F'd in the A.

It's not sexist, but you might want to adjust your policy slightly. I was the same way for a long time. I would never let a girl pay for anything for me. I always insisted on paying for them. Then I learned that money doesn't regenerate itself. As I have many more female friends than male friends, I had to either give in somewhere or stop going out. So now, if I have the funds available, I'm doing the paying when I'm with a girl. If not and they're willing, I let them pay. And you could always suggest something free.

Yeah, a little tact comes in handy in these situations.
Wakefield said:

Quite correct, but believe me, us guys do too. We try to play it off but some of the dumbest things can really get to us. Drama is the bane of my existence.
