So, I stopped playing WoW about two or three months ago telling myself that it was to concentrate on school, but I think it's just because it's not as good as it used to be. I started playing early in the Burning Crusade's lifespan, and I remember all the fun back then; but it seems like the game is losing the fantastic, creative aspect of it. I mean, Blizzard is taking from real world mythologies now to make stories. Also, the questing is not as fun even though they've tried to make it so.I don't really like it much, but do you still think the game is good?

The game is a lot more refined than a few years back but it lost whatever feel it had for me at the start of Cata.

Its definitely not bad, and gameplay wise it is better than before but I feel like it is missing something.

It is still head and shoulders better than any other fantasy MMORPG out there simply due to the amount of polish half a decade brings to a game and the amount of content (doesn't have the most, but has plenty enough to last you a long time).

It's still the same really, so it's as good/bar as it was, the decision is up to the user.
And anything more I add will be sucked into a flamewar.

I like it quite a bit, although I've stopped playing just because of the massive amounts of time that it requires.

I personally hate Cataclysm. I think raids are gradually getting easier, and likewise for leveling. You can get an epic flyer like at level 10 now. I also think Vanilla raids were the best by far. With the exception of Sunwell, Vanilla raids when they were recent were ridiculous. Ahn' Qiraj has been wiped by groups of 70s... I've seen it.

It better fucking be.

I ordered the game, all the Expansions and 9 months worth of game time, still hasn't arrived yet.

How much that cost you?

OT: For me? No. But that's because none of the people I used to play with are still on and my Guild went to hell. Gameplay wise it's better than ever but for me personally, my WoW days are gone.

Well, Cataclysm's raids and heroics are harder compared to Wrath, which was incredibly easy.
They still aren't nearly as hard as Vanilla was, though.

I bought rift. I figured I could get addicted to another game at least I wouldn't be playing wow. Now I hate rift and can't go back to wow. As it turns out rift worked like nicotine gum for me. Both leave a bad taste in my mouth. Now I just play minecraft all the time, anyone wanna join my server?

Wow is not bad, it just makes people into a different kind of gamer. At first it was new and exiting, even game breaking bugs were something. I wasted time getting lost in virtual swamps. At the end of my carrer I played like a zombie with wowhead and wowwiki going and running 6 mods that were "must haves".

I quit before Cata came out because it was a time sink that offered no return. I think it is OKAY at best.

I don't enjoy it anymore. Haven't since just after BC was released.

I'm loving RIFT, though.

Kara is the best raid ever sorry. Zul'Aman was pretty good to but I think that's because I liked the whole "timer vs. people in the guild want frogs" thing.

to all the people saying vanilla was best: you're all liars.
i've played until the end of the burning crusade. and i've recently picked the game up again, and the gameplay is better by miles then the vanilla and it's first xpack.
that said, the people playing it are more hostile, juvenile and plain dumb then back before BC.

i'm 100% sure that sunwell was NEVER a vanilla raid.
I think he says he likes sunwell and its not that it was an original. Anyway I admit the BC era was my favorite. I remember thinking several times "I don't think I could ever go back to how it was. This new patch ruined the old game for me its so much better now." I don't know when patches made me stop thinking that but I think it was around achievements.

Now I know I'm going to get the response that a couple good fights do not redeem an entire expansion pack but are you saying nothing in Wrath was as hard as anything in vanilla, not HLK or Yogg-0? I think you could probably make a decent claim that H Prof and Firefighter maybe Freya+3 as well was harder then a lot of the content in vanilla and BC.

Then of course we have Paragon's comments that T11 was one of the hardest tier's of raiding ever. WoW raiding is getting easier in that now there is a better spectrum of content but the top end is just as hard if not harder.

I worded that badly. I meant that Vanilla raids were really the only hard ones, with Sunwell being the exception. Poor wording on my part. Desolé.

I personally liked the BC zone more. Outlands was amazing sporting my favorite zone in the game (Nagrand), but the raids after Vanilla, again with the exception of Sunwell, just didn't do it for me.
