It's fake.

Well, it's a shame to kill a real tree. We've attempted to use a real one in the past, and then replant it afterwards, but it invariably dies.

EDIT: Mind you, neither of us is particularly interested in Christmas decorations. They kind of lost their appeal a couple of years ago. The rest of the family finds them interesting and fun, but we don't.

We used to use a fake tree, but as time went on, our traditions wavered while our laziness stood strong.
Sooo...
Yeah, we haven't bothered for years.

It's real. And it's also UPSIDE FREAKING DOWN - a V-shape instead of a /\-shape.

Beat that!
What happened? What did you do? You'll destroy us all with that tree.

Mozared, your tree is madness!
Madness?
THIS. IS. HOLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND!

Seriously though, I have no clue what happened to it, it was like this when we got it. Apperantly it's originally a bush-form of the original coniferous tree which seems to have been cut in a fairly weird shape. It is fun to confuse people with it nevertheless, though.

Holland? Oh. That makes everything alright then. I used to visit twice a year.

Ours is as fake as Katie Prices breasts.
So, for the people who have no idea who Katie Price is, this makes it very fake. But it looks real.

I use artificial. It is very real looking and whenever I point it out to my guests they have all stated they never noticed (of course this could just be them being nice). It is much less hassle than gettign a real tree into my living room.

I have the fakest little plastic tree there is.

My cat absolutely loves it, for some reason.
Same here, Its too much of a hassle to have a real Christmas tree, so a couple years back we bought a fake one.
and out two indoor cats love it.
one sleeps under it and eats it.
The other sleeps in it...and eats it.
Go figure.

My family has used an artificial tree for as long as I can remember. There are quite a few advantages to this, IMO.

1) We save lots of money from buying a new tree each year
2) We don't have the scent of pine reeking up the house
3) We can bend the branches to our whim, making decorating easier
