Can we just assume that not everything he does will be so amazing that your face will fall off? I mean give the guy a break he is human, not even Monty Python achieved permanent awesomeness.

1) Make them a bit longer and a bit less caught up on just blasting a game. Harsh criticism can be funny, but grows predictable. Even if he doesn't like a game he doesn't really have to resort to absolutely slamming every single thing he doesn't like. There's more to humor than insulting things. Different kinds of humor would be welcome.
It's his schtick. That's like saying 'Married with Children could use a bit less misogyny and instead have tender episodes that show the characters care for each other.'

No.

That would -ruin it.- When your first suggestion is 'Jump the shark' it makes me want to stop reading the rest of your comments.

2) Speak slower. If you listen to his original videos, he did not speak that fast. He still spoke without really pausing, but his voice was delivered in slower, quieter tone, which for me, made his videos more enjoyable. In his recent videos he speaks very fast (although he is not hard to understand) and much louder and angrier.
It's called 'Zero Punctuation'. He actually edits the audio commentary to do that.

It's, again, his shtick.

3) Bring back the old music intros. I know there's copyright issues and all that, but the old music clips were better, and as long as he only uses about 10 seconds of music from a song, he's not breaking any laws. Maybe he got tired of hunting for songs.
Okay those were clever and funny and I do missthem, but... after a while it becomes harder and harder to find new songs.

But having a common beginning to each video is professional, and gives a lot of professional credence to The Escapist, which was just starting to get bigger at the time.

There's more concerns to entertainment than just entertainment, after all. Sustainability is nice too.

To be honest, ZP could never have lasted forever. Which is why he's branching out. He's opening a bar here in Brisbane (which I will not go to because I do not drink), as well as writing a book (which I probably will not read, but I'm willing to give it a browse in borders). He probably recognizes that ZP will eventually lose its charm. In fact, I get the impression that he really is quite tired of ZP, tired of the escapist, tired of the fans, tired of being known as the "ZP guy". I know I'd get tired of it. He gives off the impression that what he really wants to do is make games or somehow get more involved in the video game industry. To which I would say - don't do it. You're making a living off ZP and being funny. Being involved in the video game industry is stressful, expensive, stressful, risky, stressful, often unrewarding, and stressful. Did I mention it's stressful?
Well, the guy knows his fans are fickle, and that they'll turn on him for being critical about thngs. His schtick.

His fanbase will RAGE if he talks slower, and is less ascerbic during his reviews, and his fanbase RAGES because he doesn't.

Which only goes to show the fanbase doesn't know shit about what they want. I personally find his reviews on some kinds of games are great, and others are not as funny. Plus, you can tell when he likes a game; the review is even funnier.

The fanbase needs to stop telling him what to do, and let him do his work; he's funny when he's not being told by his fanbase to 'Review this for the lolz!' cause then he attacks the fanbase more than the game.

Oh, there are of course good and bad episodes, like with every episode-based-media in an universe were different tastes exist.

But overall I think the quality has maintained the same high standard.

Actually I'm impressed by the time Yz has been able to keep the creative juices flowing instead of burning out at some point by saying: Go watch review X, this game is like that one, so there is nothing new I can say about it.

Blame the games not Yahtzee! It's not his fault that some games are so bland you can't even make fun of them properly.

Actually, I only thought a few weren't that funny and I think it correlates to amount of non-sequitors in the video.

It truly depends on what you think is funny. Some of his videos are funnier than others and some are just pathetic in terms of complaints. He is as funny as he ever was but some videos just arent funny for me. Take the DC video for example, that was just boring. I watch ZP all the time whenever i get a game or just for fun. I find him entertaining but it sucks when he tries to find something wrong with a great game or when what he says is misleading. Borderlands for example, when you hover over a weapon there are arrows next to the stats that tell you if its an upgrade or a downgrade. There are other reviews where i agree with him and where i don't agree with him. I hated Dark Void that a few hours of my life i wont get back but i didn't agree with him on the Mirror's Edge review as i thought that game was bloody awesome!

ZP isn't getting old, if you've been watching it weekly since release, times have changed man.
If you don't feel like watching it, don't. Maybe catch up with it in a month, year, or never.

Think about out it and you will realize that it is not the spoon that bends, only yourself.

Personally I think it's still entertaining, so I still watch it, but I wouldn't say it's the next best thing since sliced bread, or ever was. I feel like I tend to get more mileage out of Extra-Punctuation. But that might be just because it's more abstract from the game he's reviewed, so it's easier for me to muse over.

ZeroPunctuation is a pretty cool guy, he compares games to genitalia and doesn't afraid of anything.

Back in the first few months he created some epic one liners like "Herculean Exemplar", "This is a MUMORPEGER!" and "Press X to not Die".

At least I think all the epic stuff was in the beginning.
Still watch and re-watch em all.
Got em all saved on my HDD :p

Personally i think ZP is getting better everyday. For examle on his time before the escapist not alot of people paid attention and had to stay by certain restrictions but now his opnions are much clearer than they once were so that is my opinion.

I know nobody's going to read this.
I read it :p

ZP is, and always has been, the Pepsi Max in blackpool. At times, it can be freaking amazing, but at others, it's just a slow climb back to the top of that roller coaster!

I thought it was, but I think that's just because watching it every week has become routine. I've since gone back and watched some of them that I didn't think were all that great and now I think they are as good as ever.

Yahtzee's oppinions are very strong, and he has high expectations, but it's in his job description. He's not a game rater, he's a game critic, and a harsh one at that, but it is his hilarious worded critiques that make me rush home every wednesday to catch the new installment.

I'll get mad at him(like with how he said "every game this year is a rip off of god of war"), then he makes a funny one(like boarderlands) and I get to liking it again. so it has gotten a little old, hearing the exact same complaints, but it still has it's moments.
