Real men drink Jameson.
Why would real men drink a blended whiskey instead of a single malt?

(says the man who drinks it because he can't afford Bushmills most of the time)
Where do you live? Cause in the USA Jameson is more expensive then Bushmills.

And are you questioning the triple distilled smoothness? Heathen........

Single malt is good too though.

Is it manly?
No.

The only thing 'manly' about it, is the licorice flavor that can be off-putting to many people (I'm a woman and hate licorice).
It isn't a drink that burns, it doesn't make your eyes water, and it has become a party drink to prove you're 'manly'. There is nothing manly about it, aside from the revolting licorice flavor. It's a unisexual drink.
I'd rather drink Firewater (cinnamon schnapps), since I actually enjoy it from time to time.

While it may be awesome it's not manly, atleast not now. It's a fad drink for people who drink just to get pissed and obnoxious.

It's not Jager's fault though; it's the band-wagoners.

You what the most manly drink ever is to me? Water. Try having the balls to go into a bar and walk up to the counter and ask for a cold glass of water with ice.
Pffft. The pubs I go to usually have a few pitchers of cold water sitting on the bar.
Unless I am in Spain or Portugal I have never ever been in a pub and seen someone with a glass of water let alone pitchers on the table but I suppose we live in different places.

Manly. Please refer to the '90s for more information on the subject.
Die Toten Hosen - Zehn Kleine Jägermeister [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pqp8WhieV0o]
I think I lost count of how many times me and my pals played that little game when we were younger... 1 Jägermeister for each verse in the song. It usually ended badly, but damn was it fun.
Also, you win this thread for bringing up this song.

Anyway, OT:

Seriously, I went to a BHG concert in 2005, and Evil downed an entire 0,75 litre bottle of the stuff through a beer bong. And then kept playing for the remainder of the concert.

... And when me and my best buddy were having our last drink of the evening and were just about to leave, the entire band suddenly sat down next to us at the bar, and a night of drunken hilarity ensued the likes of which I've never encountered again to this day. Best gig ever.

It has umlauts. It is manly, that is all.
And I think "manliness" is about the manner in which you drink rather than the substance.
Please elaborate. I am quite curious to find in which way partaking in the drinking itself is manly, or the manner in which one does such.
Well manly is an ill-defined term in the best of circumstances (hence the quotations marks). My personal definition would be mature and independent. So basically as long as you're drinking Jäger in measured amounts because you enjoy it and not because your friends tell you that you have to in order to prove yourself or something.

Nay - Me and my dad decided to have a Jagerbomb competition a few months back, at party we were having. I stopped at 3 because I didn't fancy spilling my guts everywhere and I felt I was pushing it as it was. My dad however didn't stop and necked 7. What followed was funny at the time, but incredibly depressing in retrospect. He turned into a dribbling mess who sounded like he had a stroke and at one point tried to eat a Daddy Long Legs.

Nothing manly 'bout that. o_O

I drink shots of liquid cocaine (2 shots Jagermeister, 1 shot Goldschlager) and it will get you messed up FAST. MANLY DRINK IS MANLY!
Ah, yes. Many many shots of those have been in me. Ususally ending up with a large black spot in my memory.

OT: 1) You people who say you like whisky and then say you like Jack Daniels haven't drank much. That stuff is the light beer of whisky.
2) Guiness is probably the manliest drink out there, followed by Glenfiddich.
3) Poteen works too, as does some West Virginia moonshine.

I think the "Not manly" argument is retarded, but I have no opinion myself.

I take issue with terms like "Manly" on principle.
Would you prefer masculine?

I'd say it is, but then again I drink a lot of Malibu, Baileys and fruity cocktails, so I'm not sure if my opinion really counts.
I'd say it is, but then again I rarely drink, the last Jagerbomb I had made me gag, so I'm not sure if my opinion really counts.

I also realize that by quoting you I am not helping my case with the whole "who is stalking who's posts" thing.

Screw you guys, I am going to enjoy my cosmopolitans AND be comfortable with my sexuality!
Get out of the thread.
Jk

Anyway, I think Jager is awesome regardless of what some terrible, terrible television show tells me.

Well making people gag could be considered a very..manly endeavour. Although it's before the watershed so I can't, in all good conscience, explain that further. There may be innocent minds [small](on the Escapist?)[/small] reading this!

And that's some pretty devious post stalking right there :D
