Huh. I see what you mean. Well, they look really different to me, anyway. Proportions of the leg-to-body, height and mass distribution, these make the difference for me. But I can understand how you would see otherwise.Xom said:I just meant that they all have the Dreadnought's basic shape.
He may be in the wrong with his content, but you just quoted his colossal post, dumbass.Onmi said:Those two are Japanese dumbass!
This, I simply can't pick a single side on this.FalloutJack said:Answer: BOTH.
Heh, sorry, but I hail from a love of both sides, so I can't actually vote on this thing. To me, there are only good mech shows, and bad mech shows. Their origin does not enter into it.
This picture is pretty awesome. Just wanted to say that...Xom said:I will spare you no cruelty. MEGAS + TTGL + WH40k

Oh granted, there are differences, it just seemed funny when I read your post with those images.TheMadTypist said:Huh. I see what you mean. Well, they look really different to me, anyway. Now this man is thinking clearly.LimaBravo said:The sum of the whole is greater than its parts.
See Heavy Gear.
Same here.CantFaketheFunk said:I'm all about the Japanese stuff. Western mecha (with the exception of Megas) tends to look way too clunky to me.
I remember that show. I saw like, the pilot episode, or something close to it. Basicly, the hero went up against an antagonist equipped in what I thought was the the most brilliant and vicious looking (read; "Cool") mecha design. It was also my first exposure too. But sadly the modern improvements to animation and voice acting have outpaced Tekkaman Blade.Ragsnstitches said:My First encounter with japanese mecha was Techno Man... i doubt thats its original title. I went mecha mad afterwards... gundam wing was after that.

Edit: just read the name on the poster of "tehno man"... it's actually Tekkaman Blade, so much better dont you think.
UltraParanoia said:Probably because Gundam is the most famous Mecha series in Japan.A random person said:I do have one question though, why is it people automatically think of gundams when japanese mechs are mentioned?
Well, first rule of modern anime: "It has to look cool, fuck everything else."Firia said:Most cool looking japanese mechs are just to look cool, and are a little absurd at the same time.
