Poll: killing kids in games. is it so wrong?

I remember seeing somewhere, that the most dangerous people after an apocolapse, are the children (people naturally want to help kids making them easy prey for vicious, over-reacting children). So, I was mighty upset when the kids were unkillable in Fallout 3 (although thanks to a mod, they are no longer).
The reason there is no problem with this is that the babies that you "kill" are already dead. The Necromorphs re-animate corpses. It's like with zombies, the creature you fight is not what it once was.jobobob said:

You can often sentence children to death from afar, in games with extreme moral choice systems. I recall murdering several entire colonies in mass effect. Oh, couldn't you also kill that kid from Dragon Age?
OT: it's not any more or less wrong than killing adults, but it's more morally reprehensible in our society. The idea being that children cannot defend themselves in the same way adults can.

I don't have a problem with killing kids in video games, but i can't even imagine the media shitstorm that would ensue if a game that allowed that were released.
How is it any worse than being able to kill adults? It's just that there are differences between games and life. Besides it being more than a bit chicken-shit. I thought it was stupid in a game where people will explode in slow motion to suddenly worry about offending someone. Guess what, if you want to fight censorship you just can't chicken out so damn easy.
Fantasy is not reality, any sort of fantasy is inherently morally neutral neither right nor wrong. All people have a dark side if we choose to ignore it's existence or worse still deny it, the more power it has over us.
I would rather live in a society which was mature enough to know that their is a part of us a part which we don't like to recognise as human which enjoys hurting things and indeed hurting people. Just like sport has become our psychological release from our more war like instincts the urge to kill and fight and indeed even murder can be sated by release in fantasy.

depite beining only 13 i find most kids under 12 to be incredible stupid and anoying but thats their age and i woulden want to kill kids in most games any more than adults(i like to play as the nich hero type)altough i can understand people wanting to shoot them to raise the mmersion of beining a evil bastard.but in my opinon i dont hate kids i hate everybody in the age range of 12 and 18 or atleast most of them there need to be more games where i can kill 14 year old idiots as they call super mario galaxy 2 gay and for baby.s while they bully me.
