The only game I don't hate using a knife in is Halo 3, and I don't think it counts as using a knife anyway. (Seeing as it's called a Sword and is made of energy and can lock on to an enemy...)

I'll pull out my knife if I feel like a bit of a duel, but most times I'll just shoot them in the face and move on. I didn't ask them to pull out a knife so it's not my fault.

As much as I love my combat knife, its a shooting game.

The only way to knife people is to get behind them without them seeing you. Don't go into a shooting game expecting anyone to oblige your weird knife fight obsession.

I play on non-serious servers in TF2. If someone pulls out a melee weapon and starts running at me at medium range, I'll accept the fight. Likewise, people tend to do the same if I start the fight. In all honestly, it's ridiculously awesome when it happens and no one intervenes. Bullets being blasted, rockets flying by, arrows wizzing through the air, and two guys are trying to hit each other with a wrench and an axe. Brilliant.

I thought if you are nice enough to not kill an afker, they shouldn't turn around and kill you 2 seconds later. I guess I was wrong.

this is why i would rather have a balistic knife instead of a pistol. Someone would think i cant reach them with a one hit kill at 10 meters, but there wrong, the knife with shoot out at them and kill them instantly.

O.T., i know what your talking about, once in tf2 we had the all chat cheat on and i had the intel on two fort, and so did another guy, we met up at the bridge and had a baseball bat fight and whomever won got to take the intel back to their base... with an entire team of pyros following them. That was a fun match, I won.

On a side note, anyone who teabags should be punished by having a rope tied one end to a car and the other to their manhood. The car would drag them till it is horrifyingly ripped off.
Y'know, I like you, kid.
You're not half bad.

I wish I was as lucky as you... Maybe I play on horrible servers... :(

I've never heard of this knife duel stuff. Why would you fight a guy in knife combat if he is foolish enough to charge towards you so you can easily gun him down?
variety, fun, mix things up. It takes little strategy to shoot someone. It's a different story when you melee someone (except in halo).

I always swing my knife by mistake in COD4 because I try to turn too hard and click the analogue stick down...

It has always resulted in being shot to bits, never in a duel.
I feel that pain. I hate playing on a console.
Yeah, but it is kind of humourous seeing how much of an idiot I look in the killcam, swinging my knife at them from 15 yards away...

It's a reflex. If someone is charging at me with a knife, I'm going to shoot him. I do like the knife fights in Counter Strike: Source though.

It's not like people purposely try to avoid us with bullets, rockets, and arrows. They just tend to have more important matters to attend to than the two harmless, suicidal brawlers (one of whom would be myself).

I always play seriously and play against decent players so i would say it takes quite a bit of strategy to kill them and trying to knife them would be suicide unless I somehow came up from behind..which is impossible because almost everyone has a 5.1 headset and can hear you.

I have the misfortune of being one of the guys who likes to help his teammates out a little to much.

I alwase walk in on two brawlers and chain gun the other guy as a reflex.

as the saying goes, dont bring a knife to a gun fight.
now as to duels (in general) I wish people would be considerate and let us fight it out and not hose us with bullets.

It still exists with me.
Usually its knife/wrench/bat/fists/bottle/bonesaw/fireaxe/shovel/Machete Battle but its still the same.
