A combination of 1 and 3. I'd throw the molotov silently (I don't have a mic) and run like hell.
Usally I would chuck a molotov at him and start spraying at him backwords, but I'm also the only person on my friends list who refers to the Tank as "Two Tons of Fun!"
I slowly type "There is a tank behind you, friend!" but by the time I actually send the message my teammate has been hurled 50 feet across the map. Curse my not-having-a-mic.
Set him on fire and hide, if your teammates are dumb enough to fire at an Expert tank that has been set on fire they deserve to die.
BACKPEDAL! Backpedal for your life! While shooting it of course. And bitching about how the entire magazine didn't kill it.
Shotgun his face open, of course! Its just a game, so I'd have the most fun I can. And I say suicidal actions = fun

Voted Rambo. If I have the auto-shotty, I try to get as point-blank to him as possible while unloading my entire clip into him. I won't get as close with the AR, but I still try to get close so that I can unload and deal the most damage as possible. Most of the time it doesn't turn out well for me, but I go down knowing I did the most I could. Usually, if it isn't me dying in a blaze of glory, then some one else just dies.
ROFL at the newest addition to the poll: "Jump while the tank hits you in the hope he'll send you to safety". I've never done that, but I do have a habit of jumping too much while playing. One time I jumped as a Hunter pounced me, somehow the physics engine decided to throw me halfway across the map with the Hunter on me.

I have very recently gotten into the whole - make the tank go for my buddy, and then just pass off the tank always going for him as :
"Aw he must like you!"
"Aw he must like you!"
Every time I've come across a Tank online, my team and I crouch a good distance away and pummel the ***** with the Assault Rifle, it's dead by the time we finish our first clips.
Depends primarily on where the tanks spawns - if it's on say BH4 down by the warehouse, set up in there with gas cans/mollies/petrol tanks ready to whack him if he goes for the forklift and wait him out until he swaps to AI. If he goes in, maneuver around the tables while hammering 'im.
In levels where you can easily and safely retreat, like BH3 trainyard (run back to the stairs, run up the stairs and even farther back until tank dies) that is certainly the best option.
Finally sometimes you just have to kite him around outside while hammering him and using cover (BH Finale, DT finale, NM finale, actually all the finales, as well as parts of DA2, DA3, DT3 and DT4).
Pardon the long explanation, in a competitive clan here so we get pretty into it.
