Racing sims or JRPGs.
Racing sims bore me to hell
JRPGs all have the same crappy spunky optimistic kid who wears his heart on his sleeve and really wants to help, and is usually obnoxiously cocky like "HI I'M CAPTAIN BASCH FON RONSENBERG OF DALMASCA, DON'T BELIEVE ANDORES LIES." Or the the dark brooding quiet type with a mysterious past and a penchant for not responding to direct questions. You know when you're playing the second type when he doesn't have blonde hair. These main characters all fit into the same conquer the naughty evil jester or whatever by taking a long and eventful trip to get to their ice fortress/dark dungeon/tower of doom.
They also have people with rabbit tails, and if I've got all my facts straight, there's only one way to produce a human-rabbit, and I'm disgusted that it's such a common practice in JRPG worlds.
Pointless and interrupting cutscenes that show you a huge and elaborate thingy of you opening a door.
Also, anime background characters like little girls in skimpy dresses (but that's hardly surpising since the Japanese love this kind of stuff), people that use umbrellas as weapons and people wearing fifteen belts and a bunch of tightly wrapped clothes which must be a ***** to take off which just doesn't appeal to me, at all.
Give me Morrowind over Final Fantasy 12-X-4-9.2 any day.
