My Tali always seem to have ridiculously low health.
I just upped my Tali's shields a lot via electronics, that made her even with me and the rest of my away team.

Kaidan. I killed him off, and it didn't make a difference- he was like the character that was there just to die.

Wrex & Garrus- awesome. Garrus for hacking, Wrex for not dying.

Ashley for being a racist xenophobe.
Well, she just annoyed me anyway, but at least I can use that as a justified reason to never use her :3
Well I respect your opinion but personally I actually kinda liked her, she wasn't entirely racist. I mean yes she had some prejudices but really it was clear that these were more values past down by her family that she was just following and there are indications she doesn't fully believe them and of course in optional conversation trees you can get her to change her worldview. Whatever, her attitude was just a joy to watch on screen as was her playfully flirty nature with Shepard.

As for me I too must join the crowd of people against Kaiden. Not that I actually dislike Kaiden mind you, I actually thought he was alright but compared to Wrex, Garrus, Liara, Tali and Ashley it was obvious that he was the weakest link. I mean I liked the squad because each of them had a reason to be there after Saren, which I'll explain:

Garrus: Had always suspected him and wanted to be involved in his capture
Wrex: Was a bounty hunter joining the team out of debt to Shepard and having a personal grudge against Saren for what he was trying to do to the Krogan (I.E mass produce them as slaves)
Ashley: Last survivor of Eden Prime, brought on the Normandy and now is motivated by revenge.
Tali: Owes a life debt to Shepard which she aims to fullfil.
Liara: Put into protective custody on Shepard's ship.

But Kaiden just seemed to be always there without really proper motivation. I didn't dislike his character, I just realised that for the sake of story Wrex and Ashley had more reason to remain then him.
I agree completely, I never quite understood all the Ashley hate, but I greatly dislike Kaiden. He's just so bland! He's the only one whose backstory was uninteresting enough that I only listened to it once. Really, his only saving grace is being voiced by Raphael Sbarge.

I've said it once and I'll say it again.

ASHLEY. ISN'T. RACIST. ASHLEY ISN'T XENOPHOBE AND ASHLEY ISN'T A RELIGIOUS FANATIC.

She has the right to dislike aliens. Her grandfather, General Williams, surrendered to aliens. Because of that, the Williams name is mud in the Alliance military. People have prejudice against her and her family. She feels like she has to clear the Williams name of the whole "surrendered to aliens" thing. That's the reason she doesn't trust them.

That being said, she happily volunteers to aid the salarians on Virmire. Of course, if she had to choose between saving a human and saving a alien, she would save a human, but wouldn't you do the same thing?

About the religion thing. She only mentions that ONCE in the entire game. Once. And she doesn't cram it into your face, she just asks for Shepard's opinion. I'm an atheist myself, but I don't judge a person (or a fictional character) just by his/her beliefs, unless he/she is a fanatic. And Ashley isn't.

Thank you, geez! I've been saying this from the beginning, but no one seems to listen.

My least favourite squad member and character is Liara. She's boring, naive, awkward and weak.
I'm so glad ME2 doesn't have squad members that are made of pudding.
100% agreed

Kaiden for me is the most boring. The decision on Virmire wasn't difficult.

Or probably that guy who dies right at the start. What an idiot...

Kaiden, on the other hand, was an enormous jackass. I'm pretty sure he killed a douchebag teacher WITH HIS MIND when he was a teenager.

Kadien was absolutely useless, and he always seemed to wander around in my games, i had to make sure he always had his helmet on so he wouldn't hurt himself, but that wasn't to often as i kept him standing in his corner on the Normandy for 99% of the time.I mostly took Ashley and Liara and i was unstoppable, also right before you're about to get it on Ashley said something about how working with CMDR.Sheppard made her change her opinions on aliens or something to that effect, that and some of the random things she says are damn funny

Kaiden, definitely. I abandoned him for a reason on Virmire. And also because I'd rather have Ashley in Shepard's bunk than Kaiden.

I'm just saying.

Interesting inverse of the usual 'who you like best'.
^^:: Humans get no love, it seems. I happen to like Kaiden; I think he's interesting and offers a unique perspective.

Yeah I get what you mean by that, however I'm just saying it in my mind worked better with him dying as a close friend of Shepard's and therefore motivating him to continue to fight back.
I see Kaiden dying as good plot development I guess is my point.
I'd have to agree. Even though I didn't like Ashley that much, but it had so much more impact when I chose Kaiden to die.

"I understand Commander. I don't regret a thing."

In-game storytelling at its best.

I didn't even use him in combat. When was he an obnoxious prick? Do explain.

Alas, Kaiden. Though that didn't stop a certain decision from being extremely difficult, in the end I felt the risk was too great, considering how close the other teammate was, to go help him.

His final speech didn't make it any better either! Damn you BioWare!!!

Kaiden and Tali weren't interesting at all. I think Garrus was the character who was done the best.

Ashley's pretty cool. She's plain about the fact that she distrusts those who aren't like her- which is a part of every persons nature, whether you want to believe it's been socialised out of you or not. She'd prefer for humanity to stand well apart from the citadel races, and I respect that. While I have no trouble accepting individuals from the other races on their merits, I don't believe the governments of others races are capable of taking pains on behalf of any but their own. In that regard, Ash and I agree.

Net result, my Shep romanced Ash and had every xenos crew-member. I didn't think much of the council though.

Ps. Voted Garrus. I like the character, and convincing him that justice and heavy regulation are mutually exclusive- which is true- was rewarding, but I just couldn't fit him into most shore missions.

Kaiden... He was so whiny. I always left him behind although, the first time I did it, I wasn't aware that he was going to be gone for good and was a tad depressed by the whole thing. As for Ashley, she is my second least favourite but she is played by the same person who plays Meg in Family Guy so I like to keep her around because the contrast of roles amuses me.
