I don't doubt that it's going to be really good and I'll buy it (when it's 15 pounds or less)
You don't buy AAA titles unless they're £15 or less?
I don't buy games that I'll play once, for a few hours, for more than £15.
How many hours is a few? And wouldn't you download any user-created maps? Huh.

Not to mention the co-op.
No one's going to make anything on par with Valves maps. Co-op would be crap in Portal.
Right, that's why the guy that made the Portal flash game then had those maps recreated in the game proper.

And how do you know? It's an entirely separate campaign that's being made by Valve. It's not like they don't have experience with multiplayer or co-op. Or quality.

Ok, I'll summarise it by saying this:

If it turns out to be the same as Portal 1 with an extra campaign for co-op it's not worth more than £15 because I won't get more than 5 hours out of it.

No. Portal was fun, but it was hardly worth being an "obsession" in my eyes. I've got other games to rave about. :)

Hype in general sort of gets on my nerves, whether it's for something I'm interested in or something I couldn't care less about. Portal 2 looks fun, and I'm sure I'll play it when the time comes, but I'm not going to obsess about it.

I think $40 or $50 would be a good price for the game. Er, what would that be in pounds, 25 or 35? Still a puzzle game despite its length and according to the gameplay trailers you spend most of it solo.

Or we could just act normally. Christ, it's just a game. It'll probably be a good one, but being obsessed with an upcoming game is just pathetic.

Portal is over-rated in my view.

I have also learned from MW2 not to get too caught up in the hype as it usually disappoints you.
That's a reasonable opinion, although I enjoyed Portal, getting way too hyped up for...

Hahahaha, oh god no. If it is anything like the first Portal it will suck just like the first one did.
Oh, sorry. I missed the memo that the first Portal sucked. Second one will be terrible too. Anyone care to talk about Dead Space 2 instead?

First of all, let's not get into Twilight hating, my point is this, do you remember, even if you liked the book, how the masses of hype got on your nerves? (if not, you were probably one of the ones spreading it). How about Portal 2? The game I religiously believe will be the greatest ever made, doesn't that deserve those levels of hype? Well other than cake references* portal is not big news lke, say, Halo was. I have just checked on amazon and the twilight box set is £45, Portal 2 will, I think, be £60. I think it's worth it.
So, can we, as gamers select our champion when the time comes? There is a worry at the back of my mind that the sequel to Portal may not be quite so great, and only time will tell but if it does, will we all join forces?

*Unfortunately, for those of you who don't know, the cake has had to be euthanised to continue testing
I think it'll be just like the first one...the one I hated

You're throwing your hopes up so high, and you fail to see that gravity will bring it crashing down... Pitty.
Unless you use the tractor beam, because if you do that gravity will bring it crashing ... sideways?

OT: I hope it doesn't get referenced all the time but it would be great if it was good enough to deserve a twitard-esque following. Not in the 'Hot guys, and girls getting everything they could possibly want' way but more in the 'This is perfection in a can that was put through an awesome-condenser which smooshed it into an even more pure form in the shape of a game' way.

I don't "get" the poll, but I will continue to make portal 1 & 2 jokes as long as they annoy all my friends.

Hell no! I got so tired of those stupid cake jokes. We don't need to go around encouraging Portal references. There's more than enough of them already.

Knowing my luck, things'd end up falling in ways beyond physics. Then my face would fall off backwards.

Let's not.

Portal really wasn't that great, but "certain" people happen to obsess over it.
