It comes down to how well I know the person. I'm usually comfortable equally with both men and women, but I tend to be more comfortable with men, because I can be myself around them since they usually have the same interests.

Well, seeming as I'm the most hideous sight on this planet, yes, even worse than seeing the box office figures for district 9 compared to twilight, and pretty much the entire world is even more shallow than the seven dwarves' swimming pool, almost every girl hates me as soon as setting sight on me. And seeing as I'm not a misogynistic football nut, almost every man thinks I'm retarded.

So yeah, I'm not particularly comfortable around either, unless they would happen to be a few of the last left who aren't like that. XD

I choose women of course... Oh what? Comfortable? Er... ay, too late. Well it depends if they stick with me just for attention. It doesn't matter if it's a man or a woman. Screams for attention are not cool.

men because i have no sexual feelings for them hence there is no awkward silences or drama to be had.

women you can say something totally innocent and they can read much deeper meaning into it than you ever intended. and end up thinking you like them or you are sociopath depending what you say.

never mind i had several friends girlfriends and one wife make passes at me, it just bad voodoo to get too comfortable around women in any way shape or form else it leads to drama. and usually i assume if some woman is dating a friend long term or is married, they probably like my friend and then i let myself get comfortable since i see them alot and usually with my friend.

so yea given any choice i generally perfer to hang out with the fellas cause there is none of that stuff. not that i feel overly awkward around women unless they pull some wierdness that i am just not into.

then there is the old harry and sally adage men and women cant be friends cause the sex part always gets in the way, and it is more often than not true.

Not to whore over it but I'm a manly man that that likes men so I'm completely clueless when it comes to talking to women.

Some of my closest friends are female, and I'm very comfortable around them. Of course, I did originally set out with the intention of boning them before getting friend-zoned, so not exactly great success, but... Ya I forgot my point.

Alone. Depends on the people cuz i've seen drama from both sides and Intelligence from both as well. Men are lax and understanding though if you introduce something alien to them their gonna try to make fun of you (Mostly in good humor). For me, cool women are hard to come by cuz the cool ones usual actually make something of their lives, and the rest tend to be game-playing, stupid, ignorant, and drug addicts. It's easy to find hot women here (Where I live) but none of them have personality. I have a friend who's breath is so bad you can smell it from 5 feet away, and yet girls love kissing him, cuz he's hot, and I assume he's good at it too. This saddens me cuz I'm 20 and I though everyone in my age group would have actually matured by now. But they haven't, including the girls.

I feel comfortable around men because they don't care.
I'd prefer to be around women given a choice between the two.
I generally choose to be by myself. Choose!

Probably men, because I am one of those, but it depends less on the gender of the person and more on whether or not they're my friend. I don't have any friends who are female at the moment, but that's not the point. I feel very uncomfortable around people I know whether or not they're male or female, but if they're around my age I feel slightly more uncomfortable around females.

I generally like being by myself, but in terms of other people, I actually have different reaction depending on the age of the people I hang out with. I feel more comfortable around people who are like 20-40 years older than me. Around my own age group, male or female, I feel less comfortable.

Though, given the gender difference between my friends, it would seem I'm more comfortable around other males.
