18 here, still live with my parents. Will probably continue to do so for another one and a half years. Friend and I are going to go to college together and all that. Unfortunately, he's a junior. :\

Not too much of a problem though, think I'm gonna look into going to a community college while I wait. Gotta keep knowledging.

I moved to Oslo to begin my studies when I was 19, which meant I had to move out. I'm kinda fine with that. It's not that hard to manage the economy, nobody worrying if I'm out late, and nobody asking "why is there two sets of clothes and a bra in the hallway?" if I bring a girl over.

I know people who live here who still live with their parents to save money, which obviously is okay.

I'm 16 and still in school, so I won't be leaving anytime soon but I think I would like to at some stage. There's no point in me leaving school for college because no college I'm likely to go to is more than 30 minutes from me, bar a few. I'd really love to go to college in the west of Ireland because it's my favorite place in the world. This would also require me moving out, however the chances of this plan going to shit are rather high, I don't even know what I want to do yet

I am a college student and I live with my parents happily. I have been thinking about moving closer to my college, but my parents really like having me home, and I do very much love my home. But when other people know i can live at college, and still choose at home and commute 1 1/2 hours every day they wonder why?

So my question is what are my fellow escapists living condition's in relation to there parents or maybe other family?
85% of recent college graduates moved back in with their parents (due to lack of jobs and the economy). Thought that'd be a fun fact. I lived with my parents til I moved to college, so I guess you could say I still "live" with them when I'm not here.

I had to leave my Uni course abruptly because I couldn't afford my last module fee (Thank you kindly, Mitie for not paying my wages properly for 4/5 months straight!).

I'm looking for a job now and trying to get some money behind me. Although my parents laugh and joke about kicking me out, I know they're supportive of me and I'm trying my best not to be a burden to them. Besides, it gives me the chance to look after my disabled mum and help with my brother who has learning difficulties.

It's less of a question whether you live with them it's more of how they deal with you while your there or not there. I could poably afford to live at college and they would support me to do so, but I feel they want me at home. I only find this kinda different due to most of my friends parents ecstatic when there kids gtfo of the house.

29 and living on my own, in a country half-way around the world from my folks.

Haven't properly lived at home since I was probably 20 (just before university) though my parents always said I was welcome to come back if I ever needed to and I spent my share of summers of from school there.

Spent six months on EI as an alternative to home living, just previous to my current situation, because, as much as I love my parents, I couldn't bring myself to live with them as an almost 30-year-old guy. I love them and all, but my hometown isn't exactly bursting with desirable jobs and I think it would be too easy to get in a rut and be stuck there because of it. Many high school chums fell in that trap and will likely never ever see the world as a result.

Fuck that man. Happy where I am now, I have more freedom to travel and do what I want than I ever did or ever would have gotten back in Canada.

I lived with my parents all through undergrad. I wanted to move out, but didn't have the financial means and school was 20 minutes away. I now live about 2.5 hours away for graduate school but still go to visit a couple of times per month for a weekend. They don't mind me being there, but by Sunday, I'm ready to be back in my apartment.

Moved out at 20 years old across the country for school. Look they are good parents we love each other, and they will do anything to help me out...

But we both prefer to live by ourselves. We deserve our personal time.
