Lust:Little effort, nice little reward
Love: Lot's of effort, great big huge reward

I see the merits to both.

Love.
Lust wont last, Love will survive even the test of time.
Heh, so every relationship that you've been in where you say that you "love" someone has lasted any significant amount of time?

I'm seriously wondering, because of you say "I haven't been in enough relationships to answer that question", than you REALLY don't know what you're talking about.

While holding out for love that's real and meaningful to actually come around, I'll play with lust in the meantime.

I want love but it is sad enough hard to find, but i think that's why we look for it. Its probably the hardest and great thing to find in life, and once you do you don't really mind anything else. These are the thoughts of a hopeless romantic.

I value love way more than casual, meaningless sex, but it's been a long time since I've had either so I'm about on the "take what you can get express" right now.

Off Topic: Also, this question seems to assume that love and lust both take place in completely separate vacuums. Isn't it possible that they can almost be interchangeable (not in meaning but in what is)? What I mean is that lust will never equal love and vice versa, but sometimes they do get intermingled and can coexist. Before you love someone, you probably lust after them (in a standard mating relationship). If you claim that you love them first, then you're probably just confusing the two terms and refuse to clarify either. In a way, both emotions are a sort of love anyhow. Depending on how you'd define that term.

Did i say every relationship where the word love was used lasted forever?
No.

But love lasts longer than Lust.

I would never choose lust over love but sadly I've only fallen victim to the former.
Sadly, this.

I won't go into details here, but a few years ago, I fell victim to some fucking **** and her lustful ways as she used me as nothing more than a fucking sex toy.

So obviously, I choose love all the way.

I'm a romantic and as the OP said, I've even been called a Victoian once or twice. I consider myself to be an omni/asexual for just that reason. I love all regardless of gender or sexual preference, yet sex or lust is something that I couldn't really care less about if I tried.

I've had a lot of one night stands, none of them were really worth it.

How about both?
Lust that turns into love is always nice. On the other hand having both in a realtionship at the same time certainly keeps things interesting ;)

Can't say I care. Im a successful and happy loner, with no real needs of acting upon lustful or loving feelings at all.

Lust or love, both are just pure novelty to act upon for me. I might do it because it provides an interesting spice to my life, but I could do just as well without either of them.

I guess it bottles down to the fact that I am one of the few people in the world who can genuinely say that he could die alone and still die a happy man.

It's quite liberating to be me. :)

Despite being a 16 year old male, a big pessimist, and having a cold black heart I strangly put all my hope and ect. into love.

Well, I am a teenager, and lust and hormones come very easily to me. So I guess love is more important. It's the ideal, something I hope for, and while I might never actually fall upon it, it's still a nice idea.
