Love is more valuable to me than lust. It is perhaps the knowledge that I feel attracted to a woman for other, less biological reasons that makes it more satisfying.

[sub][sub][sub]Yet another missing poll. The poll void is widening.[/sub][/sub][/sub]

Well love is pretty awesome but it'd be boring as fuck without lust. At least lust can be good on its own.

Love......
Experiences based purely on lust have always left me feeling empty afterwards.
Like I betrayed myself (or perhaps the other) somehow. I don't like it.
So I stopped doing it.
Love is taking it's sweet time getting here though XD

Love offers companionship, maybe it's my inner cheapness shining through but if im gonna invest in something I want it to last a long time and lust just doesn't do that.

Let's have an example, what would you rather have:

You're 80 years old and you have a wife/husband who you love and you can share companionship with.

OR

You're 80 years old and you have to phone a hooker because no one in their right mind will have sex with a wrinkly old man/woman.

commited relationships and one nighters are not the same as just love/lust because you can love someone who doesn't love you back and few marriges never had any physical desire at any point

one nighters are simply a replacment for not having a steady partner, if nobody loves you then having casual sex is a lot better than just being lonely

Love.
Lust wont last, Love will survive even the test of time.
I also believe that you can have Love without Lust.
But that's just me.
People fall out of love, while the demand for sex remains at a steady constant.

It's nice to keep them separate. I could live with a relatively platonic relationship, while burying the metaphorical sausage every now and then with people I had no intention of getting heavily involved with. As long as the other parties were okay with it, of course.

Lust is pretty much my basic drive these days, but hey. Im only 18, and when miss right turns up, Love obviously will defeat lust

Love for me, no questions. I cannot think of any...intimate relations with anyone who I do not love. Which is strange, most my age and generation...mmm. Not exactly high on their priorities.

Only a cynical person would value lust over love as a principal, but I feel that it should be your actions that reveal your true feelings on the matter. I value a relationship and would never go out looking purely for a short term fling, but for someone I feel I could have a lasting relationship with. How it turns out in practice is usually a different matter.

Love, defo
ive seen so many people lusting after a girl who is nothing but a ditzy girl with an attractive body. ironically, i was probably the closest to going out with her, because/even though i wasnt interested. ditzy girls are good for nothing but lust in terms of relationships, in my eyes, as i cannot feel interested in girl that is only interested in make-up and immaculate dresses. give me a cool sharp thing with scraped jeans any day ;)
you can see in lord of the rings, that tolkiens kind of gal was a headstrong, independant woman - see galadriel, eowyn, arwen (sort of)
thats my kind of girl as well - a girl that can think for herself. annoyingly girls that think for themselves dont want to go out with me :(
this makes me a total hipocrit as my current, how can i put this, target, is very attractive, but thats sort of side thing.

same with me. im 18, so id walk into a room of people, look at a girl and think "attractive" but i wouldnt, actually go out with for the same reason im against dating sites. im a naive romantic who thinks love shouldnt be looked for. yes, i do believe in random encounters and nervous laughter during shopping trips :)

Lust, definitely. I don't know that I've ever felt love. I honestly think that the emotion itself is just a mix of lust and friendship. This seems very problematic because when one of those inevitably dries up you realize that the other was entirely dependent on that and you just wasted precious weeks/months/years of your life with some dumb ***** you only tolerated because she gave a good blow job. This is why the longest "relationship" I've ever had was with someone who was technically just a fuck buddy.

Then again, my mentality works in such a way that I begin to despise almost any form of companionship after a certain amount of time, so that probably has something to do with it.

Love is more valuable, it's far more rare and I constontly search for proof of its existence.

I have both goin' on, and I know that while I could live without sex, I couldn't live without the man I love.

Seeing as my last girlfriend made me very bitter towards the whole love thing, I'd say lust. I don't have any interest in maintaining or even starting a relationship, but having the benefits of one doesn't sound too bad at all.

I would never choose lust over love but sadly I've only fallen victim to the former.
Sadly, this.

I won't go into details here, but a few years ago, I fell victim to some fucking **** and her lustful ways as she used me as nothing more than a fucking sex toy.

So obviously, I choose love all the way.

I'm a romantic and as the OP said, I've even been called a Victoian once or twice. I consider myself to be an omni/asexual for just that reason. I love all regardless of gender or sexual preference, yet sex or lust is something that I couldn't really care less about if I tried.
hey at least you can actually get some, i cant even get a girl to look my way :(
k i cant stop thinking about this..

YOU ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT GETTING LAID!!!

its not that easy for the rest of us....
