I'm a lurker! Wait, this goes against my point.
But I generally don't reply to a thread without reading all the posts, and if I lose interest before reading them all, then I won't read until the end and won't reply.
Then there's those other times, where I still read everything but in the end feel like I don't really have anything to add.

Bit of both... I've been here 2 years and still haven't reached 5000 posts. Some people have been here since start of year and reached triple that.
This thread holds much irony... In any case it should be obvious that I'm a commenter. What is interesting to see is how many lurkers the Escapist actually has; it's a fairly high number.
i lurk moar because i come into threads late, and get ninja'd alot. or sometimes i have nothing funny/interesting to say. but i do try to contribute a good amount.
I'm kind of a lurker, I have to force myself to comment sometimes when its a awesome thread but most of the time I just look at a thread, look at some comments, and then watch a couple vids in the interwebz.
I do a bit of both, whether a thread passes readability or not is the decisive point, that or whether it is just plain worthless dribble.
I find it annoying when you create a new thread and you have over a thousand reads but five replies? it pisses me off when i waste days to review a game and only a few comments come out... COMMENT MORE DAMN YOU LURKERS!!!
