Also. How many proxies are you running? No one wants to play against a hobo deck.
I have a hobo deck! 100% proxied, including lands

Although the deck would cost around $100+. and 1 card is worth ~18$ and i have 4 of em

And your friends don't mind playing against that? Most players find entirely proxy decks kind of obnoxious.

That being said, I do have 2 proxied Squirrel mobs in my stupid $40 squirrel deck because I can't find any more for a decent price.

I started playing for the first time last summer when a friend had me play it with him. Now I've gotten about six more of my friends hooked as well, and they're getting even more people hooked! I've never played a game with such a great combination of complexity and depth. There are unfathomable possibilities when it comes to deckbuilding and probably a near-infinite number of potential decks. I also love the fact that there is no perfect deck; even the best decks in the game can be countered. Honestly the moments of the game that I enjoy most are those when I put together a deck that seems nigh-unbeatable until a week later when my friends rise to the challenge and put together a deck that can stand against it. MTG is hands down the best game I have EVER played.

I absolutely love Magic, and I played that game constantly. There was this small group of people in my high school that I would play with and we always had a lot of fun. Then I went to college and I knew no one that played it, which made me very sad, and I haven't played in years. I can't find my deck anymore and I want to play again, but I don't know anyone near me that plays.

Absolutely love it! I got into it when the Pokémon craze was still booming and I just thought it was better in every way. More strategy, cooler art and some nice lore at the bottom of the card to help immersion. Sadly, the already small community that actually played it died off with time and I haven't played it in years.

Me and all my friends have been playing for about 5-6 years, its great... but definatly very expensive, we've all spent quite alot of money on it :(

My favourite thing about it is just coming up with new deck ideas and strategies, i probably have more fun building those decks than actually playing the game xD

I hate the people who go out of their way to buy powerfull cards seperately in order to beat everyone else. THEY RUIN THA GAME! As an example, there was this guy who made a deck full of monsters that just came in and got killed, and after his meatshield was done he would eventually get a piss expensive monsters that could get summoned from dead units. Apply different buffs that can also be applied VIA dead units (Not resources) and attack with landwalk. Yea, dead in like 8-10 rounds. Every time.

Pardon my ignorance, but as someone who's only been playing for around five months, what exactly did M10 change that was so bad?
The general n00bification of the game.

Mostly the changes made to combat, but also the the removal zones, such as the Phased-Out zone.
Noobification? It made the game more complex by getting rid of damage on the stack...

People need to learn about choices

Dude, you should totally look into ad nauseum tendrils (ANT) or some decks from combo winter, those went off and killed you turn 1, almost every time, no matter what. Those decks are the reason creatures have been getting buffs and spells have been getting nerfed.

I absolutely love magic, it's the coolest TCG out there, and is the one where you get a cube format, which is essentially making your own set and drafting with it infinitely, for free!

Magic is a fun game. The husband and I both play as do most of our friends. Have way too many decks made up mind you. Luckily we haven't had to buy many cards as a friend buys lots and then gives us all the ones he doesn't want.

Yes. Noobification.

Rather than to teach people the rules of the game, they changed the rules to reflect what the noobs, sorry "casual gamers", thought they should be.

That and the rebalancing of spells vs creatures. Creatures are a fucktonne more powerful now.

For me, it took a lot of the flavor away. I know many people whine about Mogg Fanatic being redefined, but let's be honest, it was a beloved broken card. Balance is broken now.

I remember when 1G meant a 2/2 vanilla bears. Now GG means a 3/2 Trample, no drawbacks. Jackal Pup was considered to be severely overpowered, but now it would be considered a moderately strong, but not broken card. But back in that day UU meant Counterspell, which was thought to be overpowered, so they scaled it back to 1UU as Cancel. Creatures ramped up, and spells didn't maintain the same growth.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the way the game has been shaped in the last few years, especially with M10 is that it is dominated by creatures, and guys like me who loved spell decks that only had creatures for blocking, or crazy abilities, and winning somehow other than "Swing for massive damage" aren't getting any love.
Which is funny, because old school spells tend to still trump newer school creatures.

People whine when I start throwing around splinters and exiles, then last word their counters.
Yeah, the game moved it's focus from stronger spells with interesting combos to "let's make some cool creatures guys!"

OT: I absolutely adore Magic. I play real life games with the family and games online with some buddies over Lackey. I play Vintage, because Enduring Renewal, Ashnod's Altar, a Tin-Winged, Brass-Taloned and a Lead-Bellied Chimera and a couple of Ornithopters is the coolest combo ever.

They're BOTH geeky. That being said, even the geeks playing MtG can beat up the geeks playing Yu-Gi-Oh! and take their lunch money.

nah actually, they are pretty chill. Considering it's a modular deck all the creatures are counter based. SO in the late game all my creatures are 100+/100+ early game they as strong as the amount of counters

You have to admit that those changes are just common sense.. and wanting to keep them the way they were is just a bit stubborn
