Alcohol is illegal and slowly kills you, THC has studies showing it can help prevent the development of tumors. Just because something is illegal doesn't necessarily mean its bad, look into the politics of it if you have time, its very interesting.
I think what you meant was that Alcohol is legal. I wouldn't mind Alcohol being illegal, as it is far more dangerous than weed. On the other hand, as you have mentioned, there are health hazards when you inhale the smoke. The list you present with the benefits are exactly what I expected; benefits in controlled, medical usage. The same can be said for almost any substance. That doesn't make everything okay though.

For every list of benefits, there is a list of downsides:

http://www.economicexpert.com/a/Health:issues:and:the:effects:eek:f:cannabis.html

Etcetera, et cetera...

The politics behind everything is indeed quite interesting. Alcohol and cigarettes aren't banned, because they generate a lot of revenues for governments through taxes. Banning said products would certainly cause some problems, so we can't expect to it happening any time soon.

haha bad typo, sorry, I drink, smoke cigarettes, as well as weed and do mushrooms occasionally (very occasionally), but I eat extremely well, take vitamins and workout so I hope im balancing things out, granted im not concerned with living Long, seeing as I don't plan on having children. your an intelligent person however so you can understand that everything in the world has its ups and downs, for example I don't see why any human would drink pop, considering over time it can eat a hole through your stomach. (had a family friend who had this happen to him, killed him very sad.) But people do things and trying to be a paragon of good health is good if you wan't to live for a very long time, but in my opinion can be a little limiting when it comes to what you experience throughout your life. everyone has there enjoyments, priorities and faults.

No, if I wanted to make myself stupid and even more ugly, I would speed up the process and smash myself in the face with a shovel a couple of times.
That...pretty much sums up my feelings on the matter.

Same goes for excessive alcohol consumption: I just don't want to be that stupid.

I do, it's a giggle and don't really feel I need to justify why I do it other than to have fun. It's a recreational drug, after all :)
Smoke a joint and listen to a slow beat with a couple of mates, and just talk about the most pointless shit and how good the music is... it just makes everything seem better. It's also handy if you have a load of food about to go out of date x)
EDIT: also every time I see a weed thread, someone's getting into an argument about the health implications. bottom line: if we cared, why would we do it?

HAHA it doesn't make a smart person stupid, however it seems to make a stupid person, more stupid.

I would never smoke it myself, but I'd support legalizing it since I learned that school health campaigns are bullshit and lies with maybe token truth.

I, personally, don't see the appeal of grinding up a plant, rolling it in paper, setting it on fire and inhaling the smoke. That said, I don't mind if people smoke pot. So long as no stoners bother me and noone thinks its strange that occasionally I feel like watching a stoner film, I have no problems with marijuana.

Like many people in this thread, I have never smoked any reefer. That being said, I (again, like those on the first page) support the legalization of it, along with LSD. Things like heroin and coke I don't know enough about, so I'm indifferent to those.

If I had money and my single pot connection didn't decide to go to "career training," I'd probably smoke, though.

I'm not the kind to let control be taken from me. I don't care how much control I lose, because any is too much.
You sound like an unpleasant person to work with. But my answer is basically the same. I've never smoked pot. I don't like the idea of not being entirely in control of my own actions/thoughts.
