Poll: Mass Effect 2 paramor choices

I tried to strike up a fling with Samara (because my Shep clearly has a thing for older, blue women) but she's married to her job, so I stuck with Liara.

And I definitely would have hooked up with Kasumi if given the chance. Zaeed too, to be honest.

I like Tali the most, but I have a hard time choosing her for two main reasons...

For one, she looks too alien to me. I can see aliens like Asari and Twi'lek as attractive because they are so extremely similar to humans. Tali is just too different looking for me to find sexually appealing.

I could overlook the first problem if it weren't for the second problem I have. The relationship is basically non existent. It feels to me like it was totally shoved in at the last second as fan service.

The entire relationship goes from completely platonic to "Ok, how do we go about having sex without killing you" in about two lines of dialogue. There is no build up, no flirting, no connection of any kind until the characters randomly say they like each other and immediately after that start worrying about the sex.

Tali is one of my favorite Mass Effect characters and certainly my favorite female character but I think they seriously dropped the ball with her as a romantic interest.

Tali had the most..um..unexaggerated character flaws. So she seemed more normal...other than being an alien.

on topic, i actually thought Shepard should have had a shot at that vampire asari chick. Can't remember her name, but i figure he lives through crap that kills everyone else all the time, I don't see how throwing another onto the pile is really that much of a stretch of the imagination.

shephard doesn't survive the fling with morgan or whatever her name was. i really didn't like ME2 enough to give a shit.

Sticking with Liara. Having an actual romance romance through 2 games (so long as you have the Shadow Broker DLC) just makes it feel a lot stronger. Plus, Miranda was never that attractive to me, Jack shares my name, and Tali always felt like a sister, or daughter to my Shepard, so when she asked for boinky happy times, I got the fuck out.
Other than that, I usually go for Kelly in other playthroughs.

In my very first game... cheated on Kaiden with Garrus, and I'll stick with the Space Batman through ME3 on that game. (I'll probably see what happens if you decide to stay with Kaiden just for the sake of seeing it, but that game's canon will be alien dude.)

Second game, I let Kaiden die (after screwing up a save that resulted in needing to go back to the last save before Virmire, which was thirteen hours lost), ended up going with Thane, I'm very interested to see where that ends up.

First playthrough (FemShep) I didn't have the luxury to "choose" anyone, because Garrus and Jacob didn't appeal to me, none of the girls swung that way, and I did Thane's loyalty mission way too late to have a chance of getting some there. Shepard ended up getting together with Kelly after the suicide mission was over, so we'll see what Kaidan's ego thinks of that in ME3. =P

Second playthrough (MaleShep) I chose to go after Jack from the get go, and have no regrets. Felt a bit sorry for Tali, though, who was all ready to confess her feelings to Shep. Also looking forward to Ashley's reaction in ME3. (How I Met Your Mother totally ruined Ash for me. =( )

Third, current, playthrough (FemShep), I'm intentionally staying loyal to Liara, since I come prepared with Lair of the Shadow Broker now. Not done yet, though, and I hope I didn't accidentally flirt with Jacob earlier. (BUT THE PRIIIIIIZE...) >_>

For me it's the other way around. I can't fathom how so many people can overlook Tali's obvious prejudice, considering how extreme it is. I mean I can see why she would be apealing, but her race relations with the Geth ruin her for me.

Yeah, that's what I did. Actually, I bought those $20 EA cash cards to pay for the DLC... I saw Liara was in it and though "I need this right motherfucking now." Then I went to Best Buy and go those cards.

On topic: Miranda had a stange character model (out of proportion, I mean), Jack is crazy (and more of a friend), and Tali is a better friend. Liara in ME3 for the win! When's that coming out by the way, anybody hear anything?

I cheated on Liara with Garrus. Since it was not possible to continue your relation with liara pre the shadow brooker DLC.

1000 times Miranda, she has the most interesting...personality... I also liked the fact she is human and most likely will not die if I touch her. Liara is nice, but the inter-species part bugs me a bit, and jack is very unstable.
