oh man, dude, you always crack me upMonkfish Acc. said:Hold up, guys, let me activate my mystical powers of precognition.
Hmm. Mm, uhuh. Oh, I see. Yeah. Thought so.
Tali in the lead forever.
I went for Jack first time through just to get the bloody achievement. Then I did my proper playthrough and rejected the fuck out of everybody.
I let Ashley die in the first game BTW SPOILER LOL specifically so I didn't have to pursue that romance to fruition. I have decided in my special personal mindstory that my Sheperd is all angsty about it, even if he doesn't seem all that torn up about it even slightly.
Seeing as the Geth forced her species from their homeworld and killed millions, perhaps billions of them, it's understandable that she'd have some prejudice towards them. Also, you can see that she's able to look past it when it's in the team's best interests.Internet Kraken said:For me it's the other way around. I can't fathom how so many people can overlook Tali's obvious prejudice, considering how extreme it is. I mean I can see why she would be apealing, but her race relations with the Geth ruin her for me.Omikron009 said:Tali, of course. I can't fathom why you'd choose anybody else.
It's understandable, but still not excusable. Just because I can understand why she's prejudiced doesn't make it any less awkward and uncomfortable. It's just not something I can overlook, as so many other people seem to be capable of doing for some reason.Omikron009 said:Seeing as the Geth forced her species from their homeworld and killed millions, perhaps billions of them, it's understandable that she'd have some prejudice towards them. And? She was going to use genocide to do so. Her father was developing weapons designed to take down the entire Geth network. Besides, you act like there's nothing wrong about kicking the Geth off the homeworld when they have just as much entitlement to it as the Quarians.tellmeimaninja said:She just wanted to get the Geth off of the Quarian homeworld...
You know what really bugs me about jack? That it seems like the only way to make her more stable is to get into a relationship to her. When you don't romance her, she just spends the rest of the game telling you to fuck off.Hashime said:1000 times Miranda, she has the most interesting...personality... I also liked the fact she is human and most likely will not die if I touch her. Liara is nice, but the inter-species part bugs me a bit, and jack is very unstable.
Well, you sort of can. It's really the only "relationship" that I can tolerate, though I don't choose to pursue it.Straying Bullet said:If I could, that crazy biotic Justicar asari as well!
That's sort of the same boat as Ashley though, and people use that against her. Her grandfather was completely stripped of notable rank because he wanted to save his men against an invading Turian fleet. They tried to hold out, but the Turians were killing civilians and they were running out of supplies. Growing up in a military family, you don't shake things like that off. Her "Xenophobia" was understandable yet people still call her an anti-alien *****.Omikron009 said:Seeing as the Geth forced her species from their homeworld and killed millions, perhaps billions of them, it's understandable that she'd have some prejudice towards them. Wait...wut?Treeinthewoods said:I like Miranda's wide eyed innocence from the first game (although she went a little dark for 2). Still, she's the best match for my paragon Sheperd to remain eternally devoted to.
Really evil Shepard cheated on Ashley with Jack, nhe's a jerk though so it never suprised me.
I've actually made enough character variations with slightly different choices from the first game to this one to have pretty much all possible relationship scenarios covered, from a grieving Sheperd who lost Ashley and almost sleeps with Tali then backs out because he's not ready to a shocking variety of potential love triangles between various characters. Even had a former lesbian Sheperd get "converted" by Garrus!
But just because they were meant to be emotionless machines doesn't change the fact that they have become something else, and have to be viewed as such. Thinking of them as nothing more than machines is exactly why the war started and why it continues. Also the Geth do not support genocide, as evidence by them not wiping the Quarians out entirely or pursuing the conflict any further than the conquered Quarian systems.tellmeimaninja said:I'm fairly said she doesn't care how.Plus, the quarians view Geth as emotionless machines, which they were meant to be. I don't support geth genocide, but I don't support geth either. Plus, the geth were equally willing to commit genocide, and they don't even use the bloody planets. They live on space stations.Internet Kraken said:And? She was going to use genocide to do so. Her father was developing weapons designed to take down the entire Geth network. I'm guessing he meant to say Liara based on the description. Still, odd that you would mix those two characters up when they have very little in common.LogicNProportion said:Wait...wut?
Miranda wasn't in the first...
Now now Ninja, I have a lot of respect for you (another person who likes the Sangheili is okay by me) but still, I feel I must point out a few things:tellmeimaninja said:Then again, Ashley is a ***** with no redeeming qualities anyway.Internet Kraken said:But just because they were meant to be emotionless machines doesn't change the fact that they have become something else, and have to be viewed as such. I just find it odd that so many people can get past her racism, especially when I've heard so many people ***** about Ashley being racist. Ashley is an alien lover when compared to Tali.
Actually the main reason Ashley has any distrust against aliens isn't based on irrational fear or even racial hate. The main reason she has trust issues in the first place is because of how her grandfather was the first human ever to surrender to an alien race, and that in turn has blacklisted her family name and her career her whole life. That's the reason why she distrusts them.Ashley, however is against ALL non-humans, primarily because... Well, they aren't human.
