There have been rumours that Bioware could be developing a "Romance Package" as DLC for Mass Effect 2. Essentially, the idea is they expand on the romantic relationships you can have with your crewmates. What would they do? Good question. Most likely you can go on a date to several places around the galaxy depending on the character you're with, either before or after you defeat the collectors.

The question I pose to you Escapists, is would you pay for DLC like that? Personally, Yes I would. I picked Tali as my romance and actually going on a date and experiencing the trials that Tali's weak immune system and different diet would present on a date would be a fascinating insight into Shepard's and Tali's relationship. Not to mention Shepard would get some dirty looks for dating a Quarian so there's another interesting trial. Same can be said for dating Garrus.

As well as the above question, what do you think Bioware would do with this sort of DLC? What scenarios do you think they could present?

I'd pay for any new Mass Effect 2 content. I bought the Alternate Appearance pack, for God's sake, and the Kasumi DLC day one.

Depends if I got laid by Miranda or not. I would'nt really wanna go out with Jack because shed proabably just break shit and Tali would have a nervous breakdown...I like Miranda so yeah guess I would.

It sounds like a good idea in some respects, but if you ask me this should be to elaborate on romance choices from Mass Effects 1 and 2. Because after all I romanced Ashley in Mass Effect 1 and none of the others really 'did it' for me in Mass Effect 2 (please can you show me some mercy by not angrily responding to this statement with 'WTF ASHLEY IS RACIST HOW CAN U FIND HER LIKABLE?!'... and just accept that I like Ashley as a character... like just this once? Please?) so I stayed faithful and given that she got very little air time and by extension neither did Kaiden or Liara it only seems fair that they do elaborate a little on them. After all, we know how the romances end for Mass Effect 2 and it would be nice to see some resolution on that front.

Then again, I'd rather just wait for it to be resolved in Mass Effect 3 then to find that the only way for it to BE resolved in Mass Effect 3 would be via download (thing is, I lack Xbox live and as such would have difficulty downloading it) so maybe my idea would be better to give a skip.
Still, it would be a good idea, if done right.

Hey, I love Kaiden you won't get any hate from me, Ashley was my best friend in ME and I hate that you have to choose between Williams and Alenko (I can think of at least one other party member I would rather sacrifice...)
There is an interesting interview that may give you some comfort (with Casey Hudson)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suDHU1sDwAA
He mentions that the reason Kaiden/Ashley and Liara only get cameos and aren't recruitable is because they needed to make sure you couldn't kill them (from 1 minute 55 seconds) :)
I would actually pay for DLC even if it only allowed me to reply to Kaiden's email after Horizon tbh :-S Because so much is left hanging....

Yes, I would.. but only if it added something substantial. If it was simply "date night on the Citadel" and nothing else, probably not.

Hey, no worries there is an understanding on BioWare's SN - the Virmire survivors stick together, lol (and Liara romancers too) ;-)

If it opens up Jack for female Shepards, then yes.
Otherwise I'll leave Bioware to cater to the Talimancers without getting any of my mojo.

Exactly and exactly. We all know how this kind of DLC ends up, especially where BioWare is concerned, who have taken over from Bethesda as kings of the weak and tragic DLC.

True. But Bethesda kind of redeemed themselves with Fallout 3.

I just love The Pitt and Point Lookout. Broken Steel is sweet to, but I already had a mod that does what it did (keep the game going after the endind and increase the level cap).
But it must have been amazing for console owners, so whatever.

OT: Perhaps. It would have to add something actually substantial though.

The general responce seems to be "Maybe, depends what's involved."

Well to add some discussion, what do you all think would need to be involved to make this DLC worth the purchase? I've visualized a scene where Shepard and his/her romance go to Illium or the Citadel and look around at some of the entertainment areas. But the player gets to choose what to do and choosing something Shepard's date doesn't like can virtually ruin the relationship. And maybe a confrontation erupts with thugs in public, to add some action.
