Wow, Ashley looks like she had her fair share of time in the red light district all of a sudden.

P.S. Fuck you Kaiden. I hope you die.

Notes from a ME1 player:

Ash isn't known for being the warmest towards aliens, which is a result of how they have affected her family. Her grandfather was the only human who surrendered to the Citadel/Turian forces during the First Contact War. Because of this she has been spending her life trying to live down the family shame put on her by the rest of humanity, especially within the Alliance Fleet. Does this equate race/species-sism? Bioware made a smart move in the creation of this character, leaving a character flaw which examines the nature of racism on subsequent generations and how they affect family value systems. Theirs also the fact that her family adheres to some kind of Judio-Christan form of religion, many of which provides environments that reinforce socially learned prejudices within sects and individual congregations.

As to Ash's new looks: I wouldn't mind having her on my team, but Jack's got my heart. Its the big bro in me :p

"I'm no fan of aliens." That's the same as "I'm no fan of black people."
Racism.
Depends on your viewpoint. Ashley's distrust and dislike of aliens is based on political standpoints, not racial standpoints. She doesn't dislike them on the basis of them merely being something different to herself. She distrusts them and dislikes them based on lack of personal experience and bad family history and general political views.

It's more like someone saying:
"I'm no fan of North Korea."
Well alright, then. I see "aliens" as a term used for races while you see it as a term used for location, like "outer space". Fair enough since a lot of folk are called "illegal aliens" when they aren't another species. lol

No offense intended or taken, mate. You defend who you like and I'll do the same. :D
I wish other folk could be so amiable, though. :(

I will be mad if they gave Jack implants between games. Big boobs=/=more attractive.
Says you
You actually equate breast size with attractiveness?
Thought I'd way in on this one.

*ahem*

There is literally no way Jack could be less attractive then she already is. And I mean that on physical and personal levels.

Like she's the only one in the freakin' universe with problems...
Because I like feeling superior justifying my actions: at least I know what my LI looks like. Most people are banging someone who could look like the Predators and who wants to commit genocide because she is nerdy and vulnerable.
Hey, hey! Fellas (and Fellettes...sorry bad pun)! Calm down!

Jack went through more abuse than any other character in ME. Raped multiple times, tortured multiple times, abused multiple times, and of course betrayed multiple times.
Yes, she's contrived. So is all of Mass Effect, really. BUT, she is one of the best written characters in ME2 and absolutely real to me. Also, her romance dialogue is so fucking great I can't tell you how great it is without cussing.

Tali is also a really well written character, but again, she's only likable if you get past her superficial persona and get to know her and her history (like with Jack).

If either of these characters are given bigger breasts I'll be RAGING.

Now, can't we all get along? I love me some chicken-legged aliens personally, but we can all understand each other's appeal for the cast, can't we? :D
I was joking, [sub]mostly[/sub], Tali is okay. She is like that annoying little sister you have to watch out for.

I must admit, Ashley looks "hotter", but she doesn't look like Ashley anymore. She looks like a completely new character. Could take some getting used to, although don't girls who go into Spec Ops for the government normally tend to loosen up and "let their hair down" (so to speak) because they aren't bound by rules? I guess that fits with this case, but still...Kaiden looks the same, so why does Ashley get a make-over?

Actually, this is what makes me hate her. Before I knew more about her I was neutral. As soon as I did her loyalty mission I hated her becuase it revealed that she is an immature, racist, selfish, whiny little ***** and I really would have appreciated an option to punch her in the face.

People say Ashley is a racist but at least she doesn't want to genocide an entire god damn species and throw away thousands of lives becuase "wah! I hate being in a suit :(".

OT: Bigger breasts =/= hotter. I would've preferred character design consistency.

I'm just hoping Jack isn't in the game to be honest, I hate her :D
Me and you in the parking lot behind my favorite store on the Citadel. No one disses my girlfriend.
That sounded like a proposition
You want an early grave? I've handled big stupid jellyfish that were tougher than you.
:D Let me just finish headbutting these Krogans and I'll be right with you!
As long as you don't mind Garrus joining in. He has reach and I have the ability to kick ass. Though, I would hate to damage your vocal chords.
Yes, I need those.
Then how about we settle this with Rock-Paper-Scissors? We'll put it in spoilers.
No peeking, I'm watching you.

(Also, I wasn't aware that the military covered breast augmentation)
The irony is that the US army (and some other countries too) actually do cover breast augmentation (and other cosmetic stuff):

The TL;DR:

It is true: personnel in all four branches of the military and members of their immediate families can get face-lifts, nose jobs, breast enlargements, liposuction, or any other kind of elective cosmetic alteration, at taxpayer expense.

I'm curious about something, why do so many people romance Tali? She's like a little girl. I mean she's cute and all but I felt my Shepard was more like an older brother or a father figure to her. When she professed to having a crush on my Shepard I actually felt kind of embarrassed for her. I laughed nervously out loud. She's so cheerful and excited that when I buy her armor or weapons or abilities it's like I'm taking a kid to the carnival. A carnival with sentient, shooting, killer machines but a carnival none the less. I think she's adorable. That doesn't mean I want to buy her a lacy space suit.

I know it's a matter of to each their own, I went after Ash and Miranda myself, and I don't think it's wrong to pick Tali. I'm just curious.

Thanks for being respectful about this.

Now what I meant is, before I actually talked to a Hanar or Elcor I thought they were just animals. Given that Ashley's had no real experience with aliens prior to this, I can understand her being wierded out by them.
No problem. That's what I do. You respect me and I'll respect you. As for before talking to the aliens, again I just assumed because they were standing around and this was a videogame these were the aliens. But you know, I might have read my whole codex before I started walking around. I can't remember but I might have, it fascinated me and it's been a while.

I have liked Ashley since before she let her hair down... shout out to all those who stayed loyal to her through ME2 in every single play through. I really loved her loyalty to her family and religion she was really the best character in ME1.

Hah! I left Ashley to die. Regret it now with how hot she is. But my reason still stands.

Ashley is just a solider.

Kaiden can do amazing things with his biotic powers.

Sorted.

Well, firstly: Character design consistency all the way! *high-five*
There's much more to it than that with Tali, and even then you're selling the idea of being trapped in a suit your entire life pretty short, mate. I mentioned this before, but without Legion NO ONE here (or a very optimistic chosen few) would've thought twice about genocide with the geth since A) they're robots and B) they were your enemies for all of the first game and parts of the second. It's a bit hypocritical for folk to call her out on wanting genocide now that we've been given proof (maybe) that not all geth are equal.

However, there are plenty of other reasons not to like her, and even so her racism is a legitimate excuse to hate her whether you understand it or not. I adore Tali, but to each their own. :)

XD Now that even I can agree with! The innocence (what's still there) and slight maturity drop around Shep adds to her charm for some. For others it can be a pain.
Dear God don't let someone make a pic of Tali blushing and saying "Nee-san" or things can get real awkward... O_O
(talk about a way to draw in a new crowd! XD)

Actually I remember that you can argue about the genocide with her in the first game. The depiction of them then was really sympathetic in her description of how the war began. She felt to me like Israelis I've talked to about Palestine. Totally unable to see or admit to their own wrongdoings. Her stubbornness, it made me a little mad even then.
