Tali is also a really well written character, but again, she's only likable if you get past her superficial persona and get to know her and her history (like with Jack).

Actually, this is what makes me hate her. Before I knew more about her I was neutral. As soon as I did her loyalty mission I hated her becuase it revealed that she is an immature, racist, selfish, whiny little ***** and I really would have appreciated an option to punch her in the face.

People say Ashley is a racist but at least she doesn't want to genocide an entire god damn species and throw away thousands of lives becuase "wah! I hate being in a suit ".

OT: Bigger breasts =/= hotter. I would've preferred character design consistency.

Well, firstly: Character design consistency all the way! *high-five*
There's much more to it than that with Tali, and even then you're selling the idea of being trapped in a suit your entire life pretty short, mate. I mentioned this before, but without Legion NO ONE here (or a very optimistic chosen few) would've thought twice about genocide with the geth since A) they're robots and B) they were your enemies for all of the first game and parts of the second. It's a bit hypocritical for folk to call her out on wanting genocide now that we've been given proof (maybe) that not all geth are equal.

However, there are plenty of other reasons not to like her, and even so her racism is a legitimate excuse to hate her whether you understand it or not. I adore Tali, but to each their own.

Not true. Since the first game I always felt that the only reason the Geth were trying to kill everyone was becuase we (well, mainly the Quarians) had to try and fuck them over. Them being robots doesn't change the fact that they became an intelligent species, something the Quarians didn't respect and as a result they started a huge war.

And yeah being stuck in a suit for most of your life would suck. However, that doesn't justify wanting to throw away thousands of lives for the purpose of committing genocide. That's just incredibly selfish.

Actually I remember that you can argue about the genocide with her in the first game. The depiction of them then was really sympathetic in her description of how the war began. She felt to me like Israelis I've talked to about Palestine. Totally unable to see or admit to their own wrongdoings. Her stubbornness, it made me a little mad even then.

And that bit about selfishness? I agree. I'm one of the few Talimancer who DON'T condone her ideals towards geth, nor will I commit genocide for my lovely chicken-legged woman. But between Legion's amiable demeanor and her adoration and respect for Paragon Shep, I have hope her ideals will change.

I loved how Ashley used to look (also I don't understand why everyone dislikes the fact that she dislikes aliens, to me that was a positive thing). She was the best female character in the game. Miranda was hot but a ***** and the only reason I went for her was because she was hotter than Jack. Jack I felt bad for but loved having her by my side because she's crazy like me. I never once considered Tali a love interest, I can't even see her face. As for Liara, yes I did get with her in the first ME on my second playthrough.

Hmm I know this is true for my playthrough. I wanted to kill every single Geth and drive them from every world before I met Legion and actually learned about Geth "thought" process and that not all of them wanted war. As you stated though it was just ingrained in me that the Geth were the evil enemy after Mass Effect 1 and fighting them up to that point. To be fair though I think that most people might think the same way as me simply because there are literally no friendly geth until you meet Legion.

That is definetly true, we have some ways to go before we get to start being considered 'mature' in that respect (at least by how other people and advertisers see us). I mean if giant boobs sell games, and clearly they still do, this stuff will keep happening.

EDIT: Plus for what it's worth, Ashley isn't nearly as sexed up as say, Samara.

Ashley Williams is just another victim of this trend, and while I don't like it, I'd still rather see Ashley return to my Shepard with a few compromises thrown her way then I would not see her at all.

Mordin would figure it out. He'd mutter for 10 minutes then just yell "Tali was the perpetrator!" Garrus would then handle the situation. With one shot. Jack could take a few out with her.
