Errg. No thanks.

I hope they spend their time, money and resources on making the single player more awesome.

If they want to make a spin-off Call of Effect multiplayer game afterwards then, eh, go ahead. I might even think about buying it.

Co-Op could be cool,
Except when your buddy starts nagging you to skip the dialogue bits or choose the renegade path all the time.

Fuck co-op, fuck multiplayer, please leave ME3 a solo experience.

Nay on the campaign. They could do like co-op missions (not part of the campaign), sorta like what CoD:MW2 did with the Spec-Ops missions. Maybe it's a stupid idea...

No, Multiplayer can die in a hole. ME has no need for it and Coop would ruin the choice system and immersion... Fable 3 can testify for that

NAY NAY NAY NAY AND NAY.
Why does every single game need a god damn multiplayer nowerdays. I like to have the Single Player/ Multiplayer distinction in games; i have some i love for their story and some i play with other people. Red Dead Redemption is a fantastic single player with one of the most enriching stories i've played in years but its multiplayer is pretty wack. Battlefield Bad Company 2 has a terrible story line that i could barely be bothered to play but the multiplayer shits on COD any day and deserves way more recognition that it gets.
Mass Effect is a fabulous game with a brilliant story and characters, one of those few games where you can actually discuss what goes on with other people. Some form of competetive multiplayer will sour things and will most definetly give it bad rep or be totally sidelined (see Bioshock 2).

Playing together with my brother's Shepard might reach epic levels of awesome that the game cannot contain and may lead to freezing, disc jamming, RROD, and other such horrors.

Be a nice addition though.

But as long as the singleplayer helps me remember just why ME is my favorite series ever...then I'm totally cool with owning your Shepard online :D

I don't care if they add multiplayer I won't be playing it anyway. If they think they can accomplish something (boost sales) go ahead it won't bother me in the slightest.

So long as the Single player remains intact i couldn't really care less. Because it's a game where the main gameplay is shooting, i doubt the multiplayer would be a fulfilling experience.

But then we said the same thing about Assassin's Creed no?

Not really, the actual game play part has been the weakest link to Mass Effect.
Really? I thought they upped the gameplay tenfold in ME2.

OT: I don't see actual multiplayer in the style of Call of Duty working. However, Co-Op missions in the style of the Modern Warfare 2 could end up being pretty damn enjoyable. All in all, as long as they don't sacrifice the single player for the multiplayer I wont care.

Probably not... I don't see how BioWare would be able to pull anything off without a novel's worth of dialog every 5 minutes...

If it wasn't for the story, I would have never bought it.

-The actual character leveling system wasn't all that great as it basically was just a tree of killing people in slightly different ways. The character models in the creation screens were ugly. Better than in games such as Demons' Souls, but I could never get over the greasy, fish-like quality of every character.

-The combat was just bad. Not KoToR bad, at least it was active, but it felt clunky. The second was even worse with the simple addition of magazines for the weapons, and it was basically running from cover to cover in a straight line. The mechanics for selecting a power or even using healing items were counter intuitive and broke the flow of combat to the point that I ignored them. My biotic was forced to make due with a pistol and any injury would have to be solved by finding cover and allowing my shields to regenerate.

-The first at least allowed one to explore the planets one found. The second stripped that entirely in favor of a minigame that involved going in circles around a globe from orbit until a meter started to vibrate. But that's not too bad as the actual environments, while pretty, were tightly confined and bland to interact with. I would have been happy with a text pop up for clicking on things. If my memory serves me correctly, there was no way beyond aiming down the sights of a sniper rifle to view things in the first person. There aren't nearly enough games that allow for first person viewing in any other way, but it would have vastly improved Mass Effect in the environments department.

While I never played some of Bioware's older games such as Baulder's Gate, from my experiences with KoToR, Dragon Age, and Mass Effect, I don't have much faith in their ability to properly execute a fun multiplayer portion of the up coming Mass Effect.

Indifferent.

I prefer more SP content rather than MP and SP fairly balanced. However, ME2 suffered from a suddenly void and empty universe after you finished the SP and done everything you could do [ Including DLC ].

So if they included a well done MP, I wouldn't complain but I wouldn't miss it I suppose.
Surely you could apply 'once I had completed the game there was nothing left to do so I didn't want to play it anymore' to any game with a significant emphasis on single player. Everything has to end at some point afterall.
