There was a good point made.
If I was wrongly accused I would say salarian or turian. They are both intelligent, passionate orators.

If I was actually guilty. I would say maybe asari because of thier...gifts, but I would most likely say volus. They are shrewd used car salesmen. They know what to say, or not say, to get the deal they want.

Salarian, Aria indicates that though Salarians don't live long there book keeping passes on which implies that that this very clever species have keen legal minds, not to mention this is a race that doesn't 'fall in love', they negotiate mating contracts and supply proof of pedigree (for want of a better word) I would imagine negotiating any area requiring a sharp legal mind would be easy for the Salarians.

There's always the Volus...

And if that doesn't work out, you can always go for broke and just hire some plain old Space Jews:

Salarian for sure. Super fast thinking and ability to think outside the box equals a good lawyer.

Elcor. Either the judge and jury will commit suicide rather then wait it out, or they'll work just as insanely as I think they will they will...
"Thinly veiled fuck-you: Objection
"Overruled"
"Contemptuous silence: you retard"

In more complete seriousness, though, a Salarian would be a more archetypal lawyer then a Jewish man possessed by Satan.

A Reaper. It would just grab me from the court house and then glass the planet from orbit. Sure, I'd soon after become a horrible cyborg slave, but hey, no jail time.

More seriously, a Salarian - very intelligent and focused. A Drell might not be bad either - with his eidetic memory, he'd be his own stenographer.

Also, space ninjas. Dammit.

I also choose Krogan. There doesn't have to be a Saint's Row 2-style motion to dismiss, he just has to stare at the jury, saying nothing. For five solid minutes.
"The defense rests."

An asari lawyer would probably be highly competent and experienced but wouldn't go over well with a jury due to the common perception of asari as psychic space-tramps.
A turian would certainly be skilled, but if you weren't actually innocent you'd be SOL as helping criminals to escape justice is not beneficial to society as-a-whole.
An elcor would be funny for the first hour but quickly become torture - I'd rather just do the time.
Hanar, of course, are just big stupid jellyfish.

Salarian attorneys for me; intellectual brilliance combined with advance knowledge and subterfuge. With luck my salarian lawyer could probably even arrange to frame someone I didn't like!

Your list suffers from a terrible lack of Geth. Those guys would make awesome lawyers.

Failing that, Krogan, just for a laugh.

The krogan on Ilium who approaches you after the side mission on Samara's recruitment quest is one of my favorite parts in the whole game, so I'd definitely take him as my lawyer. Well-spoken, well-mannered, with an undercurrent of hidden threats beneath every word. I think the sight of a krogan not overtly threatening the courtroom would shock any jury to vote in his favor.

Asari.
I think the fact they have Justicars proves just how loyal they are to justice (in general, yay for profiling!).
Of course, this would mean I'd have to be innocent to begin with. And that courts would work like they do for us.

But then again, Human might be best. As if I committed a crime against a human, then wouldn't the Alliance take control of the situation (as Shepard does for the Alliance over and over again in the first game).
The implications of some side missions (the one with that guy and his crazy Biotic compound or the L2 Biotics who wanted compensation, Garrus' personal quest in ME1) would imply that where the crime took place and who the crime victimized would dictate who had jurisdiction.

So, technically my choice would depend on who was judging. I'd want a lawyer to match the system (Asari for Asari or Citadel/Council trials, human for human, etc.). ^^
