I supose its personal taste but I LOVED almost every song on Recovery my favorite album ever where as relapse was not bad, just....very strange

Metal I enjoy more, at least some of it.
Not a big 'scream like a retard' metal...I dig more 'metal-light' stuff like Slayer, Megadeth, and Manowar.

Never really liked rap, metal is definatly more enjoyable in my opinion.
I have been listening to a lot of Bullet for my Valentine and Megadeath recently,
I don't mind the screaming all that much like some people do.

I like rap/hip hop (The Roots, Kanye West, some Jay-Z, Raekwon, Big Boi, Janelle Monae, A Tribe called Quest, Fugees) and hate metal. I know there are a lot of subgenres of metal. I've listened to many and haven't liked any. Three of my roommates were huge metal fans and would always blast the stuff. And then I try to play "Debaser" by the Pixies and they're like "What the hell is that?"

But two of those roommates also loved rap.

Rap today is terrible, just god awful, which is weird, just ten years ago rap was at it's peak,
Chronic 2001 just came out, Eminem just released his Marshall Mathers LP (His best album I personally think), then, to watch it fall in such a bad way has always been weird, 50 Cent, lil wayne, young jeezy, God, the list just goes on and on, it's just been one embarrassing act after another, they just never got rap, their voices aren't unique in anyway and they're raps have no meaning behind there words, It's just a bunch of wanna be gangsters trying to cling to the fame of actually rappers who established them selves on there own.
Eminem has even fallen pretty far down, guest spots in your raps are fine an shit, but fucking Rihanna? goddamn emeinem, I can't defend that in anyway.
Well, I can still hope that dr, dre's album will be awesome.

Well, I love both rap and metal. NWA, Aesop Rock, Eminem, Black Dahlia Murder, Pantera, Between the Buried and Me, and so on. I love finding new rappers and metal bands.

I like both metal and hip hop.

A lot of the hip hop I like is from the 80s and early 90s, the so called "golden age" of hip hop. Of the newer hip hop I like, much of it is somewhat unconventional, consisting of instrumental hip hop, trip hop, and bits and pieces of other genres. For example, Dr. Octagon, Deltron 3030, Gorillaz, Handsome Boy Modeling School, DJ Shadow, UNKLE's first album, some of RJD2's work, etc.
