Poll: Mugging

I've grown up in the DC area and have never been mugged though I imagine I would just run like Hell to whatever shop is closest and, open. Unless I see an authority figure which I guess would be kind of a long shot.

I've myself have never been mugged and I can't really explain how I would react because what you'd think you would do and what you'd actually do can be two very different things. That and their are different types of muggings.

OT: I've never been mugged so I don't rightly know, but I'd guess I'd either initially try to run or struggle since it's my nature to do so unless they were armed or I was outnumbered, in which case surrender. I'm not going to risk being stabbed over twenty quid.

OT: Yeah I have. The guy had us at knife point and I pulled out my handgun. Almost shit himself and ran off. No bullets fired and the only time I've ever had to pull it out.

I've been mugged twice. The first time I was pretty young and I didn't have a knife on me, so not much I could do. The second time was more recently but I still barely remember it due to the amount of alcohol I had consumed prior to it, so again I didn't do much of anything.

When I worked as a pizza-delivery driver, I was robbed twice- once at knifepoint, once at gunpoint. (This was actually pretty good considering I spent four years at a store that literally delivered to "the projects".) Both times I just gave them the cash. Not going to try to be a hero for about $20-40 that isn't even mine.
