Lol at Robocop reference. "Dead or alive, you're coming with me!" :D
If caught, the consequences for me and my family. And of course.. it's against the law :).

I voted "morals/conscience", though its more a matter of religion.

Doesn't matter how well I can cover it up from the cops, I'll still burn for it on the other side.

Umm, no. I guess you could say it's my beliefs, except that's wrong. It's not that I want to kill but my beliefs stop me; it's that within my beliefs the urge to kill never appears to begin with. Even if I hate someone, killing them seems stupid. And not stupid like "Oh noes, jail! Imma get raped!", but rather stupid in the arrogance it displays. The only judgement I can fairly make of others is whether I like them or not, I should not get to decide whether they live or die.

I would, believe me I would kill someone. If you think about it, however, you realize you would gain absolutely nothing from it. You would be arrested, you would know you had just played God and so on. It would suck. That is why I can wait hoping that/until I get my own nation to d such things, because in my own nation I would be the law, and I would be the God of my nation, whether they liked it or not.

The only thing that stops me from shooting the people i hate (pretty much everyone in my country) is the fact that someday i'll be more successful than most of them either as a doctor somewhere, or as head of either the NGA or Marshall Institute, TAKE THAT JOSH DORITY, lets see how much of a jerk you are when I'm the presidents head advisor on nuclear and space weaponry

I wouldn't due to me being, in general, a passive person. I don't really let people bother me a great deal and ending someone would be completely wrong. The awful consequences would make killing someone even worse than it is. However, I probably would kill someone in war, just never in cold blood.

The law is what stops me.
If I wasn't so sure I was under surveillance I would have done it again by now.

*looks out window*

Its that van again...

Same reason cavemen most likely didn't kill their neighbours in the caves beside them... it might convince others that killing is ok, and that they aren't particularly that fond of me either

hey, you didn't include the option: "I have killed someone before" :p

as for me... well, I don't really hate anyone enough to kill them lol... I mean, I hate some people (one person in particular), but I don't think i'd kill them... just horribly torture them (especially that one person in particular) :D

I'm capable of great injury but murder's a terrible terrible act that so far nobody I have actually encountered deserves.

What's the difference between morals/conscience and Society's Values?
Well said.
Morals are for a single person, whereas Society's Values are a collective of this, with conflicting morals.

fear of hell. if i had irrevocable proof that hell doesn't exist or that sadistic torture-murders don't send you there (and i strongly beleive the opposite) i would be a very nasty person indeed. curse my catholicism. takes all the fun out of life.

The fact that at this point 30% of people have voted that the law is what stops them from murder is honestly quite worrying to me. Are people actually saying that fear of a life sentence is the only thing stopping them taking a life? Or need to be told right and wrong by the state? Either way I'm concerned, for me I wouldn't kill someone unless it was heat of the moment/crime of passion kind of thing, I wouldnt be thinking about consequences in that situation thats for sure, the sort of situation I hope never arises.

They almost caught me last time. I can't risk anymore suspicion....

No, my morals combined with my fear of death.

Mostly because I'm lazy. For the occasions that do warrant a killing, I'll grudgingly get up from my comfy seat and deal with the interloper...but it takes a good deal of aggravation for me to be moved to action. Most of the time :p

Something I find really interesting:

People are not choosing "I have no-one I'd like to kill."

People are choosing "My morals won't allow me to kill."

Yes, your morals and concience stop you from going on a spree... But what if they didnt?

Just something interesting, I've found.
