love it or hate it?

Even though I hate most of it, I picked "love it" because hatred is so boring.

Anyone who thinks that there is no good new music just isn't making much of an effort to seek it out. Regardless of your taste, there is nowadays more music being made by more people in more genres than ever before in human history and if you can't find something in there that you like you just need to search harder.

Well it all depends on what genres of music you're into. For instance, I can list an album for each year that I quite liked. Some of them aren't my favourite albums or even by my favourite bands, but I like all of them:

Tarot was initiated in the 80s... so don't think it really counts, even if their better stuff was after Marco joined Nightwish

It seems that way, but I think that's just because none of the shitty pop released back then has stood the test of time, plus some good bands that got their start back then have made music of a declining quality since (Green Day I'm looking at you). But I think in another 15 years we will forget all the shit getting released now, and it will seem like all the music released before 2010 was good

The Strokes, DFA 1979, The Blood Brothers, Flaming Lips are still good, Lightning Bolt, Pavement, Silver Jews, Tallest Man on Earth, Wolf Parade, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, etc...

I'm not sure what universe people live in that they're thinking that music past 19XX is all shit. Just look and thou shalt receive.

It's mostly pretty sub-par, but there is some great stuff. Metallica (Death Magnetic), Sonata Arctica, Hammerfall, some later Stratovarius, Nightwish, Kamelot, Breaking Benjamin and Skillet are all fantastic.

Lordi and Dethklok are also very good (if you don't take them seriously).

And yes, Rammstein are also great, if you like that sort of thing.
