You were right to say it. I doubt he was actually in the army if he was that much of a fanboy about it.
Baby Tea has a point. A buddy of mine got into an argument on PSN over CoD4. Not ten minutes later he felt Sony's Banhammer.... I never bantered anybody again.Baby Tea said:Honestly? You should have just dropped it s soon as he got irrationally angry.Mrsnugglesworth said:So I ask of you after this long post, was I right to say this?
Just drop it!
It's some guy over LIVE who you'll never meet, you gain nothing from the argument (Even if you 'win'), and you end up looking like just as big a douche as him (Even with eloquent responses). Some people are just looking for a fight, verbal or otherwise, and it's always just a better idea to ignore them and drop the subject. Especially over something so trivial as a video game.
Or they feel like they have something to fight for? Many join because they feel obligated to fight for the homeland. My family is a prime example.Booze Zombie said:Halo fanboys are touchy about story... with good reason.
Now, I'm sure general wisdom holds that being in the army makes you disciplined, yada, yada, yada.
They forget to mention that you have to be stupid enough to want to go stand in front of bullets, aggressive and at the very least, willing to go along with the crowd, though the general rule seems to be fratboy mentality.
Military types generally have objectionable personalities, it's what makes them good at shooting and dying.
HAHAHAHAHAHA Yeah right, another Internet Tough Guy here. I highly doubt you've never met people like that, so how many have you killed? Just a little bit of anonymity and everyone thinks they are just a regular Rambo waiting to happen...Quadtrix said:If I met a person in real life who acted like that, I'd sigh, pull out a switch blade, slash the dude's throat, and walk away.
Why would you want to fight?Nieroshai said:Or they feel like they have something to fight for? Many join because they feel obligated to fight for the homeland. My family is a prime example.
Maybe not in the case of the Iraq war, I'm not gonna open that can of worms, but just maybe that individual thinks the country's worth defending and feels it's his/her duty to help? Maybe that person feels a need to help liberate allies under attack? No, it is really stupid to just assume shooting things and the GI Bill are the only reason for fighting.Booze Zombie said:Why would you want to fight?Nieroshai said:Or they feel like they have something to fight for? Go ahead and think you're obligated, I'll just not see why.
Second. MaxTheReaper, you should pretty much have a Second next to your name because everyone seconds you!MaxTheReaper said:...It warms my heart to know shining examples of the goodness of humanity like this man are dying for me in some foreign hellhole.
Yes, and you should've said worse.
