As far as I'm concerned it's the most retarded thing on the internet. It started out as people watching it because it wasn't "cool" to watch it. Then it exploded and everybody is into it.
And to think... 2 months ago people were net bashing on hipsters constantly. Now everyone is a hipster.

Yeah, I thought my dad was watching Johnny Bravo when I first found out that they made a spin-off show with the only redeeming characters of the Madagascar movie. They've also got John Dimaggio(Bender's VA) doing Rico (thought he barely talks) and they recently had Master Shake's VA doing a side character.Easton Dark said:Oh shit man, I never noticed it was the same VA. Actually, it started out as a few people on /co/ watching it and the other new shows on The Hub hoping to rip it a new asshole. Every show was crapped all over except FiM, which turned out to be way better than expected because of the protagonist being all "I don't want to make friends. Surely the point of being a hipster is that you can say you like something in order to make people like you? That can't really be said of My Little Pony, as I'd bet that few people would be willing to admit liking it in day-to-day life, certainly not to people who aren't good friends (if you would admit it in public, then more power to you btw).Custard_Angel said:

I loved the penguins in the movies(and penguins in general, among other awesome animals) and yet I had no idea the show existed. I probably never would have if my dad hadn't accidentally DVR'd it. On the other hand, I heard of MLP less than two months after it debuted, and I had zero previous interest in ponies, magical or otherwise.
TLDR: The popularity of this show vs other cartoons due to 4chan, or the show itself? A question for the ages.

Didn't like them too much either, and the new series is also junk. Hell, if I were to watch Beast Wars today, I would probably be like "what is this crap"? I'm doing myself and it a favor by not revisiting BW.Blitzwing said:
