Why is this even an issue...? TF2 sucks ass. I bought it, played it for about 2 hours, and I wanted to kill myself because it's just a horrible game.

i dont see how this is a problem, i had it before it became f2p, i think its fun to have more competition and if you want to play with other people who already bougth the game, just go on the special servers, i like how valve made tf2 f2p and not just a lite version, but i stil think that they should give more stuff to the people who have payd..... MORE HATS!

i like it, they should put it on a different server.
except it kicks people who paid for the game.
just because someone got it for free doesnt make them worse, so they should have a place to play without people who paid acting like dicks to them.

F2P player
Does that refer to people who started playing after the game became F2P, or people who haven't got premium accounts?
If I'm understanding correctly it's for players who don't have premium accounts...I think.

This isn't good. I started playing this game to get away from stupid stuff like this. This probably isn't going to stay forever either.

god forbid that they just buy 4 bucks worth of crap on the mann store (b/c the minimum that you have to purchase is 4 bucks) anyway some of my friends are F2P and they arent the annoying kind guess ill just have to gift them some starter kits

I really don't like this. I am a F2P player, but that doesn't mean I suck (I like to think I do pretty well actually. ). If this catches one this means I couldn't play anywhere just because some jerks have something against people who got the game when it is free. I might actually stop playing the game because of this, and I was really enjoying my time with it too!

I really don't mind it, the servers I frequent have set up passwords anyways in response to the free players. So this really doesn't effect me at all, and I have little sympathy to the free player's "plight" when the game has been on sale numerous times, for less than $5.

Why not make it so that you kick annoying players, i feel that this is only an excuse for people to feel superior because they paid for it, i'm pretty competitive on TF2 and yet i had no way of paying for it before.
How do you make a script that automatically kicks annoying players?
I don't know scripting language but isn't there a command to kick/ban people from servers? if not then why not write a script for that.

I don't mind F2P players being bad at the game, I just don't like people getting something for free that I had to pay $20 for.

So yeah, I like this idea.

I think it should be a last resort to keep out griefers. People who grief probably won't buy the game or upgrade to a free account. Not allowing someone to join a game because of skill and making a broad generalization about group's skill level is a bit much. I don't think people should ban F2P players, but I believe the server admins should be allowed to if they want.

I saw this post on the TF2 forums a bit ago and thought to bring it here, so you all know that TF2 is now free to play which leads to two main groups of players, the guys who paid for it and the guys who didn't. Recently a server plugin was released that automatically kicks any F2P player from the server as they try to join, people seem to be really against the plugin calling it "discrimination" as others really like it because it keeps servers "noob free". I was just wondering what the escapist community would think of something like this.
I hope that Valve will do something with it because it stands against its policy.
The fact that TF2 is F2P doesn't make th free players a lesser breed.

I like it.

It just further proves the type of mentality that the STEAM community has.
This made me chuckle xD

OT: Yeh that quite silly, Valve will do something about it though, as someone stated it's against their policy.

Feel sorry for the players the got it for free though, the TF2 community sure know how to discriminate the new F2P players =\
Their policy or not, Valve does not own the servers. If the owners want to be douchebags, it's their right to do so.

I doubt it will keep it "noob free". There will always be some idiot who Ubercharges a Sniper. There will also be people like me who paid for the game, but simply aren't very experienced in it yet.

This in my view is a strange idea: I would not use it if I ran a server, but in the spirit of freedom of will I wouldn't mind if others do.

Keeps the servers noob free. You know. As long as the aforementioned noobs haven't already paid ten dollars at the Mann Co. store. Which the new F2P players are much more likely to do than the old guard. Due to not having had to pay a first sale price for the game.

...what is this addon for again?

I play the game for fun. Got that? For FUN. I have had the game for years, play it almost every day if only for a 1/2 hour or so, and I think this is kind of shitty. While I do see everyone's point on keeping the elitist by themselves, it just seems a little to pricky for my liking. I welcome the new players as long as they aren't going to be jerks. Those people don't usually last a long time though, and will move on to their next trollfest.

Valve fanboys before F2P TF2: We're the most welcoming, friendly and nicest online community in gaming! We're SOOOOOO much better than every other online community.

Valve fanboys after F2P TF2: OMG ALL THESE FUCKING F2P SCRUBS! L2P you fucking n00b! Valve hates us because we had to pay money for this game to get these losers playing! YOU'RE NOT WELCOME HERE, F2Pers! And we'll do everything we can to prove it!

How's that "nicest online community" thing working out for you? :p

In all seriousness: It's an asshole move. Thankfully, only the assholes will use it. All this tells is what servers to avoid.

I paid for the game and I gotta say, I was never that good and the servers were ghost towns before. I've never seen them so lively or so full of people I can actually kill. The only downside has been hearing elitists complain. So that said, I approve of this plug-in. It'll clearly tell me what servers to avoid.
