I'd say the console version is superior. Mods can't help a game when you can barely play it.

Why 360? It doesn't really have better controls...
The game is designed to be played with a controller. Mouse + Keyboard is horrible with the default menus.
Ok, that whole "game is designed to be played with a controller" idea is rubbish. It's completely false. But let's assume for a second that you're absolutely right. As I said directly under that, use a 360 controller on your PC then. Problem solved. The controls are not a reason to buy it for 360.
That doesn't work. They disabled controller support when they ported it to PC.

PC + Mods = almost infinite replay value.
If you don't have a computer that can run Oblivion very well, then get a better one because you'll eventually be unable to run any new games as the industry advances.

Use a gamepad profiler. I figured this was all common knowledge by now, but apparently not. I can't believe I'm really having this conversation right now. I can't help but laugh a little. You can use a 360 controller with every single game that's ever existed, if you really want to.

And, would you go back and read the rest of my previous post? I edited it, because, well... I just had to. I couldn't help myself anymore.

I choose xbox cause thats what I have, but if I had a choice and a good computer I would defiantly choose that.

You can use your 360 controller if you want and their are tons of mods for it.

Wut? You do know there are mods that downgrade the graphics to a point where even 3+ year old laptops can run it?

Also, I don't know what the heck are you talking about. I played only with Mouse + Keyboard and can't imagine slow, heavy controls when playing an archer or a mage.
So.. PC is superior because people have to downgrade it's graphics to play?

Playing with a controller is easy, the AI is dumb enough to walk in a straight line towards you, so when one fireball/arrow hits, they all hit.
Don't push your words into my mouth.

They CAN. They can downgrade their graphics. But that's a problem with every game. Oblivion looks awesome, but requires a lot, too.

Next up - we complain about Crysis not running on 5-year old PCs!

PC. cause im an idiot. I thought it would be cheaper to buy the Oblivion GotY edition but ended up having to buy a new graphics card, 2 GB system RAM, 128MB video card and a bunch of other stuff that I have no idea what they do
Graphics cards and video cards are the same thing. You didn't buy two of them, did you?

Well obviously the PC kind of wins because of mods and all that,
but for those of us without the requisite super-computer and technical know-how, I'll say 360.
I have it on both the PS3 and the 360 (yes, I am an utter loon), and I just find that despite the graphical update present in the PS3 version,
the analogue sticks make it a bit of a pain, archery is pretty much useless.
Also the lack of DLC on the PS3 version hurts.

P.C.

Mart's, DarnUI, Fran's, and OOO. Those, and the 360 controller layout I find rather awkward.

PC, and my friend with a PS3 agrees. He cried when he saw how much better my graphics were. Plus you really need a keyboard and mouse otherwise browsing your inventory could take millenia.

I bought the PC version first thinking my pc could handle it (i was dead wrong) so i played it to death on the Xbox, now i have a better laptop that can handle it fairly well and im startign to get back into it more, i haven't tried any mods or heats for it yet though

How nice of you to ignore that my 5 year old pc CAN run Crysis but not Oblivion.
I mean, I can play Crysis on medium and get a decent FPS(anything above 25 is fine for me) but for Oblivion I required Streamline and a few graphics reducing mods.

Using a gamepad profiler doesn't mean a game supports a controller.
Oblivion does not support a controller.

You'll have to explain this one. Particularly since there's a "mod manager" for the PC that was user created, and works like a wonder. Even without it, it's a matter of "drag and drop" the files into the folder. Put a checkmark next to whatever mod/DLC you want and that's it. How could it be any easier?

I'm completely fine with people saying the 360 version is better for them. I don't really care. But can't anybody at least support their reason for saying that with something logical?

I mean downloading form xbox live seams safer, less likely to go wrong, cant be corrupted ect

Well maybe your PC hates you. Just a thought.

Or that Oblivion is a bit overdemanding. It still doesn't mean it's worth trading modability for a bit smoothness.

Oblivion does not support a controller.
Your PC manufacturer doesn't support opening the side of your computer case, but so what? Does that mean you can't open the side of your computer case?

Oblivion may or may not support a controller. But do you know what does? Windows. So what difference does that make? It may not be an option within Oblivions options, but I'm giving you a reason why that doesn't matter. Is any of this getting through, yet? I have no idea how much simpler I could make it for you. I'm not trying to be mean, I just think you're trying to be thick.

I don't even think I could have responded to that guy if he had said that to me. You already know that's false. You can use reason to look at the requirements of both games and feel comfortable knowing that he's either lying or flat out incorrect. There's just certain people where you have to finally say, "Ok man, whatever.", because no amount of reasonable argumentation is going to matter.
