I became a fan and a regular because of Yahtzee but I am not quite sure why I joined. It might be during AvP2010 release and I got excited about the sites mini game which required a registration. But not quite sure.

I came to the site because of Zero Punctuation. I joined because of the many other videos and the community in the forums. So sure Zero Punctuation is an important part of what brought me here, but it's not the biggest reason I joined.

Wouldn't say taste, I would say troll though. lol
I joined to keep up to date with ZP, stayed.. Not sure. The news is usually opinion pieces (With wrong opiions D:) The community varies between "needs to die" and "troll who is friends with the mods", and Yahtzee gets boring after a while if you play the games and find out he's making stuff up for a video. Be nice if he blasted games on points where they should be blasted. At least going through the options menu maybe..

I know, I know. We're hardcore gamers and we don't read manuals or go through no stinkin' menus.

But it does help..

Nope. I used to watch kirithem's releases like a hawk, and followed them over here when they became Extra Creditz. I do watch ZP now, though. And Escape to the Movies, Big Picture, Miracle of Sound, Jimquistion and read the comics.

You're going to get a lot of yes answers of course. Since he was the big draw for a long time, it's obvious that he's going to be what brought a lot of people here. As for staying, I personally stay not for the community itself, but for the fact I actually get to say something. The community here seems to be sort of a mixed bag in terms of quality.

What did bring me here was Unskippable. What made me stay was that and LRR. This was less then a month after the actual LRR videos became part of the Escapist though. I didn't get into Yahtzee until I had watched every Unskippable and LRR video.

Nope, I followed a link to a news story and joined after seeing what a great source of gaming news this place was. Yahtzee was an added bonus that came later.

I might have first come here for his amusing flood of words, but I stayed for the community, for LRR, for the forums and their games, for journalists and journalism that cared about things I cared about, and brought forth issues to me that I might have otherwise been unaware of. I became enraptured by a few new series that had arrived, and came to love the reviews that came out, unafraid to produce a two page article on what made a game great, and what made it break. I found many reasonable and intelligent people in forums policed by fair and observant moderators who made the rules, and weren't needed in every thread because of the mindset of many of the contributors who would promote the spirit of camaraderie and reason over a hate-fueled flame war any day.

So, he might have been the bun in the bakery that caught my eye, but the skill and atmosphere that bakers provided is what kept me around.

I used to come here just to watch Yahtzee then be on my way but I actually ended up joining the escapist because of Kotaku changing its layout. I couldn't really stand the new layout there at all so I packed up and looked for a new website.

Pretty much. I never heard of this site until Yatzee mention his future works will be uploaded onto here on his Youtube channel. I however spend a long time lurking on the forum until I finally register (don't know why I didn't sign up earlier).

Yeah, I'm with the majority on this one. But I don't watch his videos anymore; I've stayed because people here on the forums are generally intelligent and respectful. It's an island of tolerance in the sea of internet bile. Nice image. :(

Actually, no... Even though I discovered this site because of him, I actually joined the forums because of the discussions and polls etc.

I joined because of Unforgotten Realms. I then discovered Yahtzee and Extra Credits when Unforgotten Realms got its own website. Then Extra Credits moved so I signed up to the forums. The main reason I stay now is for Yahtzee & the forums.

Well, I found out about this site because of Zero Punctuation. I'm one of the few people who was a fan of zero punctuation when it was still on youtube. I didn't join only because of him though. I joined because I liked other things this site has to offer.
