If given the choice I'd say more of an optimist, shit happens but at the end of the day things do get better.

Either choice describes a person who expects things to turn out a certain way. I don't. Life is what we make of it, the unexpected usually happens, and all we can do is prepare for that while enjoying the good things we can squeeze out of life.
So... neither.

Realist/pessimist for most everything. Though when a friend is struggling with something I take a complete 180 and become overly optimistic.

I'd say pessimist. I usually can't see things getting any better than they are.
I just see them getting worse and worse.

I'm an optimist. Learned it was better for me to be like that. :3

Absurdist? There is no meaning to life so therefore everything we do is futile, but also extremely funny? Cynical, a complete lack of faith in the Human Character. sLightly apathetic: eh everyone is. Those are me. So I geuss I'm an optimist at heart. Just a pessimist on the surface

If I'm being honest with myself, then I tend toward pessimism. However, if I am indulging in fantasy, as I most often do, then I lean toward optimism. So, short answer: it depends.

I'm pessimistic, but I don't whine when something bad happens. But if you expect the worst, then that just makes the good things in life that much sweeter.

my outlook is things will probably suck. that is more likely. but no sense being all glum about it, maybe they wont and if they do, oh well! i'd say that's a little more optimist than pessimist

I prefer "Realist", but ok.
I heard a quote, once- "The Pessimist knows that the Optimist's head is half-empty." Nicest thing to say? No, but it still amuses me.

Are you an optimist or a pessimist. I am most definitely an optimist. My life philosophy is "shit works itself out". I'm a pretty happy person as well. Certainly not a downer. So how about everyone else?

Also prediction, the internet is filled with primarily pessimists.
Is the glass half full? or half empty?

me: "It's twice the size it needs to be."

what the heck am I? lol
An engineer, or a realist.xD

I personally think of it as a free drink.
So I solve problems, like how am I going to win the up-coming nerf tournoment where if I get shot I lose?

The answer?
a gun! *looks at tripod nerf vulcan*

and if that don't work- use more gun! *needs to get more gun*

I guess I'd be considered a pessimist, but I'm more of a "dry the fuck up and figure out your problems" kind of guy as well.

Cynical bastard to the core.

EDIT: Honestly, I have no idea how somebody can be optimist without being ignorant. Idealism/Optimism is great in practise, but time and time again it gets shit all over. Infact, I think that is what makes pessimists; people who were optimistists and woke up.
