I read in the news to day that A saudi man has been sentenced to be beheaded and then crucified [http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/8342005.stm].

The guy had raped 5 children. Dumping one of them in the desert, left for dead. Amnesty International are not happy saying he has mental health problems and he was not given access to a lawyer. The article doesn't mention it but Im sure they aren't crazy about the beheading then crucifixion thing either.

Apparently in Saudi beheading is used for serious crimes with over 40 people decapitated this year. They claim it is an Islamic and a humane way to kill someone. The crucifixion involves displaying his body up on wooden beams.

So is this justice? Do you feel that Amnesty are right? Would you introduce the punishment in your country? If so for which crimes? Your thoughts please.

I don't see how chopping off someones head and then crucifying them is humane. Though I guess that I'm biased since I'm against killing people for any reason.

A lot of people on this website have said that pedophiles should be horribly punished, so they should like this.

Wait, so they're going to behead him then crucify him?

That seems a bit unnecessary. Not because it's inhumane or anything, but because he's already dead after the whole beheading.

Well...this is rather weird
Hmm well they might see it as an eye for an eye as leaving a child for dead could be seen by that court as murder probably.

On a less serious note how's the beheading being carried out? Sword, axe, guillotine or another method?

Personally, all I have to say is that I never knew crucifixion was still carried out.

Seriously. The priorities seem a bit messed up here.
Couldn't they be original and do both at the same time or something?
Now that would be interesting.

Leaving his headless corpse up in public, as a reminder that fiddling kiddies is wrong, sounds rather unsanitary.

Then again, down here, where there is no execution, he'd get life, which would be from the time he makes it to prison to the time the other inmates manage to get him alone or at least get a chance to sprinkle crushed glass into his food.

That's pretty weird, but I wouldn't tell them not to since they were doing it like a tradition or something. At least it's cost effective...

How exactly does that make them better than the pedo or do anyone justice?

That's just cruel and they're just as fucked up if not more.

Yes, rape is bad and when it has something to do with children, its worse (by social standards. Its all the same to me.) but killing someone and putting it up for display? Thats just fucked.

No, They crucify, set up an RNG, and whenever it lands on 7, then it's off with his head.

They should do it the other way around really..otherwise it seems to be a bit pointless.

Crucify him and poke him with sharp objects seems to be a far better way of doing it.

They could even put people on shifts so he never gets a break from being poked. And they all have to poke in the same spot.

Man I'm cruel.

The crucifixion of the corpse could just be to serve as an example to others. Like shoving the heads of your fallen enemies on wooden pikes. Though I could easily be wrong. I don't know much about the Islamic faith.

Seems excessive. Death penalty sure, but they could have a more human way of killing him.

also, why does this guy get killed but a crown prince doesn't even get investigated?

p.s. the middle east is also even worse as japan when it comes to pedos. in the middle east they actually marry kids to adults. look it up, it's accepted practice. sickening.

I say bring back the good old hung drawn and quartered. Or maybe fifths... yes that could work nicely.

It's obvious to send a message.

He deserves to be punished but that's taking it too far. But, unless I'm horrifyingly ignorant (which I probably could be), this is a country that cuts off hands for stealing.

On a seperate note, in India a nine-year-old boy essentially got away with raping a three-year-old girl.
