Well at least they aren't crucifying him then chopping of his head.
That would be a lot more painful.

That seems a bit unnecessary. Not because it's inhumane or anything, but because he's already dead after the whole beheading.
Couldn't they be original and do both at the same time or something?
Now that would be interesting.
Wait, wouldn't eye for an eye mean they have five children rape him? Oh, and then they leave him in the desert to die. Hmmm... something is wrong with that idea. I can't quite put my finger on it.Dr Ampersand said:Well...this is rather weird
Hmm well they might see it as an eye for an eye as leaving a child for dead could be seen by that court as murder probably.
Oliver Cromwell was actually dug up and executed after he had been dead and in the ground for 3 years. People do the nuttiest things.Doktor Merkwurdigliebe said:Why crucify? Beheading is enough.
I was watching an episode of QI earlier. Apparently a Pope had his predecessor (whom he hated) dug up, put on trial (with some guy ventriloquising the predecessor's lines), lopped off his three papal blessing fingers and then had him reburied in a 'common grave'.cuddly_tomato said:Oliver Cromwell was actually dug up and executed after he had been dead and in the ground for 3 years. On topic: I am against all forms of torture, and death penality. This is no exception.
Millions of animals are euthanized simply because they have a disease that may or may not affect us, thousands of animals will die when they don't have a disease simply because we worry they MIGHT have a disease.hURR dURR dERP said:While child rape and murder certainly does deserve to be punished harshly, I'm personally not a huge fan of the death penalty. Especially carried out in such a barbaric way, and especially when the person being punished is mentally unstable.
I do however support forced chemical castration for sex offenders. Mentally unstable or not.
Some theorize that's [a href=http://www.damninteresting.com/lucid-decapitation]not entirely true.[/a]Xiado said:Well, beheading is certainly a humane way to die, pretty instantaneous and painless
How exactly would you 'treat' a pedophile? Give him a cup of tea and let him huddle up on the psychiatrist's couch and bawl about how 'misunderstood' he is and gosh darnit, those damn toddlers were just asking for it, being all sexy like that, you patting his hand all the while and cooing that he's a good person who did nothing wrong?Chipperz said:IF this is the right man, then he needs treatment, not execution. It doesn't sound like he had a fair trial, so there's no way of telling if he's the right guy, anyway.
Also, everyone that voted that this is right clearly supports Sharia law, which is, well, it's their thing I know, but I know in England there's a lot of worry that it might happen here...
People have all kinds of weird and wonderful ways of dealing with the dead. Some of the Tibetan Buddhists practice sky burials, called jhator. Basically they chop you up and leave you on the mountains for the vultures to eat. I'd quite like that one for myself.Amnestic said:I was watching an episode of QI earlier. But it's okay! 'cos the Pope who came after the crazy bastard reversed the decision and had him buried in a Pope grave.
Which is better than a common one, or something.
