They were fun at uni and school when you knew like 90% of the people there but now I find myself not knowing anyone and being a miserable bastard in the corner talking to the same two people all night.

The best party I went to was in high school where this kid in my class who everyone knew as his surname was Bearpark decided to have a huge party at his house while his parents were away. It wasn't a huge party, it was massive with easily 300 people there. The highlight of the night was the chinese exchange student getting drunk for the first time and falling off the roof. Happy times.

well i dont like parties and discos and stuff like that cause they alwys put the music so extremely loud that you have to shout at your buddies just to get spit on ur face and still dont hear eachother. so no i dont like that kind of parties but if you go celebrating by... lets say bowling or a movie or something that is OK with me.

Friend invites you to home and/or entertainment building. Strangers can be there. Idiots who babble on and on are there also if the friend is not careful.

most of the times i got parties like that the music was really loud like in the first post i wrote, but mostly it's fun yes

as long as it doesn't include loud music, i will generally be ok.

although i will probably leave quite quickly if i don't know anyone there.

They're fun sometimes, it really depends a lot on what kind of people show up. I picked up "Yes", but It would be better if the "Sometimes" option was there.

A party with only friends is fine, assuming there aren't too many people. With strangers, or people I don't know or like (like school socials)...no thanks.

I demand a middle ground. For me it depends on the people. I think I would like a party with people like me, or at least more similair to me than the people I know now.

With all the people I know now I would never go to a party, the boozehounds they are, and I don't like seeing people get drunk. And the music they'd play...I rather have my ears torn off.

No thank you, I rather lock myself in my room, being on the Escapist, watching Farscape or Naruto and playing TF2 than hanging out with that lot.

I don't like people, I don't mind them in small groups, but in clusters or crowds my patience is taxed beyond tolerence. I guess I'm just clausterphobic like that. It basically makes parties a write off.

Generally dont have a good time at parties so for me not fun even if i consume an unholy amount of alcohol (which is more often the case than not)

They're fun with friends and people you like.

Yeah, this. If you're with friends the chances are that you're in your comfort zone, and therefore will enjoy yourself more. But with strangers, you feel wierd and out of place, and don't have as much fun.
