I hate it when people leave just because the team is losing. I HATE it even more when they go to the other team just so they can get kills, it just unbalances the teams even more.

I am loyal to the team i get assigned to (as i auto assign) even when they are down. I find it more satisfying when the losing team makes a come back and wins, shows them team switching tards who kicks ass.

I only leave if something important come up or the team is so ridiculously retarded you think no wonder you guys are losing.

Ya know, I could probably count the number of times that I've played games online on one hand and have fingers left over. But I leave a game when it becomes boring or tedious. Since most online games are just chat rooms with a game attached, and most people in internet chat rooms are boring, tedious, but mostly both, I have no problems quitting a game on these schmucks.

If the guy/gal leaves for his/her personal life reasons, I can understand him/her. But leaving because were close to losing, that means he/she sucks.

I only leave if I have something really important that has to be done that second. But I hate people who leave just because they got betrayed.

I'm a "Till The Bitter End" kind of gamer. Frankly I consider one of the most important parts of a game is the ability to enjoy loosing. Nothing beats the feeling of having a defiant last stand.

I always stick it through till the bitter end, and i'm normally the one on the loosing team laughing at all the others whining that someone was in their favourite hiding spot or whatnot.

What the bannana said. If something comes up, gaming won't be my priority. But if you're just getting destroyed and you quit, then I get annoyed.

There is very little that will get me to leave a game in the middle of a match. The end of the match is another deal entirely though.

The list includes, and is pretty much limited to the following events. Emergencies such as fire, earthquakes and the like. Internet disconnecting, which happens a lot more than I would like, because my DSL modem and ISP are both crap. Sex.

What the Ken. Mastah said.

Sometimes, I have personal things to do, so I just log off and be on my way. Other times, Lag drops me out for no reason. But even if I'm losing horribly, I always play till the end, especially if I leveled up or something.

I dont have that strong feelings about it, after all isnt the point of a game to have fun, and if your not having fun, why should you continue? That said, I never quit because im losing, only if a)Something in real life comes up or b)the team im on is full of racists and/or whiny kids, both with mics and very happy to abuse my ears. Though there is one gametype, in one game that I cant stand people leaving, and that my friends, is rocket race in Halo 3. Anyone whos played it will tell you how much crazy fun it is. It consists of four teams, both with rocket launchers, trying to get to zones to score points. Two to each team, VIPs cant drive, but man rockets. Invincinility is on, so a rocket will only knock you flying, not kill you. Now, when someone leaves, it shifts VIP to the person left on that team, meaning that they cant drive a mongoose, and dont have a hope in hell of doing anything productive. And when someone leaves at the start of a game, it just gets stupid.

I don't hate it when people leave. I have it when people quit. Sometimes people have things that come up and they have to go. Though there are some other people (like ones I met during my brief online stint in Halo 3) that quit because they don't get a map or game type they like. It seems to be snipers or nothing with them.

In connection with the Halo statement, when I first started playing matches on Xbox Live my router was semi incompatible with the Live system so I got disconnected a lot mid-game. I had a lot of negative gamer reviews saying I had 'quit early'. Though I did infact disconnect early, it doesn't mean I wanted to! =P

doesn't bother me a bit, in cod4 new people just get thrown into the mix. On halo 3 it just gives me an excuse to camp, hide, run and generally annoy the other team. I remember one halo match my team quit and i just ran and hid with the shotgun, it bored the other team so bad they left(its hard to play 10 min trying to find a guy)

Though I don't like it when people leave, I can understand why they do, sometimes it makes no sense to sit there, feeding the enemy when your fate is decided, and other times it's just a random disconnect/power failure, it happens sometimes, but in Warcraft III TFT, whenever someone leaves or gets disconnected, many of the people still playing say things like, "OMGZORRO ROFLNUB B&" which I think is quite nearly insane.

I hate when it happens in gorups. One friend will tell his friends that he is leaving and they all decide, "oh that's a great idea I don't care what happen to the people playing this match". Suddenly you realize that you have three or four less guys than the other team, which results in a humuliating defeat.

Eh, why should someone stay and keep doing something they don't think is fun? That's the point of games, after all. Entertainment. And if a player isn't entertained by the game, he should go do something else.

I saw a bunch of you saying "People that leave when they lose are sore losers", followed by "it makes me mad when they leave because that makes me lose"... Err, isn't that kind of self-contradictory? So what if you lose. If you get annoyed by your loss, then you're just the same type of person as the one leaving. The point of the game isn't winning at all costs, after all, but entertainment. Both teams can't win. And if you can't have fun while playing against better equipped/more skilled players, then I just feel sorry for you.
