I like to draw, write and make music but I'm not especially good at any of these things. I'm also decent at graphic arts. I wouldn't consider myself an artist though.

Since the only thing I can draw well are sheep, I'd say I'm not really an artist.
My sheep are really good though.

Being An Artist: where you can draw/paint something that actually looks like the intended object/person.

Well I think to define an artist, one would need to define art.
But art is a pretty subjective term, and often thrown around very frivolously these days.

One might consider a rusty nail through a Coke can a symbol of anti-capitalism, or even an artistic stand against processed foods in general, while another might just see a nail through a can.
Who is right and who is wrong?

Both, I'd say. Art is different things to different people, and we're not always going to agree. I wouldn't call someone who draws hentai or other cartoon porn an 'artist', no matter how well they can draw. But I would call a barely legible drawing of a road drawn by a man with cerebral palsy to represent the hard road he walks with his terrible illness art.

Some might agree with me, others might not.
I'd say it comes down to intent/message, as well as clarity in said message/intent.
But that's me.

I fancy myself a writer, an "artist of language", as it were. It's difficult to define what one considers "art", but if one is able to captivate an audience's eyes or ears, is that not something worthy of recognition?

by writing I mean poetry even tried the occasional video game poems which come out all right, I don't have the concentration or determination to do long full stories. I normally do awesome chapter one then am like "I need to put some actual plot in now".

Practice makes perfect though. A couple of years ago my drawings were much the same, but now I'm much improved. I have a basic understanding of human anatomy now, for example.

People who are "crap" at drawing just have it as a mindset, not an actual lack of ability. If you can write your own name, you can drawn a picture, it's the same principle.

I write, compose, play the Piano, sing in a barbershop quartet amatatuer group (sp?) and doodle, sketch, draw and paint inscessently.

I chose writer of some sort despite the sort in question being 'poor at best'. I also draw (barely more than doodles really) but a mixed option wasn't available.

I have beed said to have an ability to draw rather well. I was in a heavily art-concentrated high school and completed an official art diploma with near maximum score.

I draw and paint, write and make music. If you want to see some of my doodles (I'm up and coming, not very skilled yet) here's a page of mine on a site called DeviantArt: http://sirensomn.deviantart.com/

I enjoy drawing but I'm not very good at it. I also enjoy playing the violin. But I'm not very good at that either. Hahaha.

I fool around with drawing and writing some. The only reason I would ever commit a major felony would be so I could get locked up in prison and finally do some serious work.

Also, just as "beauty is in the eye of the beholder", art is much the same. Many things are art, but the degree of quality and variety of mediums makes objectively judging their worth difficult. Some people consider only 'high art' (paintings, opera, etc.) to be art, while others would count graffiti artists or bloggers as equals. Again, its a matter of opinion. Elitism in the arts is just as sad as elitism everywhere else.

I'm pretty good with a pencil, but I've seen much better throughout the internet. I simply draw for fun and that's really all that matters...
