I used to draw all the time, went to college for graphic design (though I didn't finish in GD). I think that all started to change when I started learning 3d development and AutoCAD. I pretty much only make art in 3d or 2d computer linework anymore. By art I usually mean construction documents or 3d renderings of a house to be built.

I guess I still draw, just not in pen and paper anymore.

I cook, which is sort of artistic, when I make like sticky buns or salad thats not artistic, but when I make a tai dish, or something that I can really garnish and make add "Presentablity" to and make it look really damn good, food beomes art

I used to be big into drawing but not so much now. Took it all four years in high school and a couple in college. I wanted to get into game development but don't think I have enough skill. I have dabbled occasionally in making maps and skins, but if it is a complex program I don't bother to learn it (on easy to use map design stuff I can make some pretty decent maps). I often try to put music together in my head. I can't write it or play but I feel I know how something should sound, and whether or not it sounds good.

People who can actually draw/paint/sculpt. People who can create music and write.
Its not art if i can do it, thats my opinion. Although i can write a tiny bit but its not fantastic.

I consider myself to be something of a writer. I haven't really written a lot lately (not since I went to Uni in fact, must be because I need to actually think now), but to clarify:

In the second to last or last year of secondary school, we had to take a test for English (which isn't our primary language, at least for those that didn't grow up with Star Trek on the Beeb) that involved having to write a short piece of prose. To prepare, we had to write another short story first. We could choose between two predetermined titles (like on the test), and we had a word limit (250-400 on the test). However, on the preparation story, the only "word limit" was "minimum of 250 words". Most people struggled to get to 200. I handed in a 9-page sci-fi short story of a smidgin over 4800 words, that I wrote in one afternoon sitting.

So yeah, I consider myself a writer.

I play jazz (which, at least the way I play, is about 80% improvisation). People think I'm amazingly good, I disagree.

An artist is someone who can perform any or many sorts of art, art being a combination of different elements that is stimulating and enjoyable to the senses, I can say as a musician, I am an artist.

A rather proficient one.
