I was blind as a baby. I didn't respond to anything waved in front of my face. They presumed that if I did have any sight at all, I'd at least need glasses.
I had contact lenses but my eyes became inflamed after 10 years of use forcing me back to glasses. Considering I didn't have a cohesive eye care package I was constantly paranoid of breaking my glasses... given my nature this made having fun almost impossible (no more tackling people into bushes . So I made the jump and had the Lasek surgery...
best thing I ever did, a huge liberation from contact lenses and that whole fiasco and my vision is better than 20/20.
I started out in life with really good vision but I'm becoming gradually nearsighted, in 2-3 years I'll probably need glasses for driving. Fortunately, I think glasses are sexy, so that's all right.
I'd have to go with glasses, as I'm squeamish about sticking things in my eyes, tho having said that, if I had thousands to spare, I'd consider the surgery. Maybe just one eye so I can get a monocle
