I voted other.
I used to be a Pokemon gamer but I lost interest after Gold/Silver.
It's pretty much always the same game but with increasingly farfetched creatures.
Still, the games are fun.

I was a fanatic of poke'mon. I had every card, every movie, you name it I had it. but then at my tenth birthday, tradedy struck. my freind gave me a pack of yu-gi-oh cards, I was hooked, I had to be the best. I spent every penny I got on those cards. it got so bad no one would play because my cards were unbeatable. Then, when my situation was at its darkest, a light at the end of the tunnel emerged, some one had actually beaten me, after that I quit cold turkey(kind of) and sold all but my most valuble cards. and i've been happy ever since. weird thing was though, the one who beat me, was also the one who got me startd. how did he beat me you say, it was such a blow to my ego that I blacked out and dont remember, but my freind, whos goal it had been to beat me, quit soon after.

I'm 16 now. a few weeks ago I had my friend over and he saw my folder full of pokemon cards. I agreed to play with him, but only because I hadn't played in years, and I thought it would be a bit of fun. Like everything else he does, however, he took this really seriously and dedicated about half an hour to my destruction (about five times).

Now every time I see him he wants to play, and I'm sick of it. I should really throw every single one out as a casualty of my room clearout because my room is being refurbished this week.

(In other words I vote other)

On the subject of video games, I never had a game boy, the first proper gaming thing i had was a ps1. I thought it was a good idea while it was still on basic colours like gold, silver, red, blue, yellow etc. Diamond and sapphire I didn't mind, but I got sceptical after they started releasing things like "fire red" and "leaf green". To me it seemed as if they were running out of ideas for names, but still wanted to release games.

Played a few of them, hated them all. I admit as a kid I did watch and enjoy some of the show, I even played the card game a bit as well. The games however SUCKED, I grew up playing a lot of classic RPG games like ultima, dragon quest, Final fantasy, ect.. so when I got to pokemon, it was boring, uninspiring and felt totally pointless due to weak story and just repetitive game play. It was pretty much nothing but random battles where you caught monsters...that's the core game play. I was probably one of the only few people in my school who hated the game, the other kids didn't take too kindly to that.

I played pokemon until they started putting them on the DS. I don't have one of those.

Anyways, red and blue were still the best versions.

Downloaded Diamond and Pearl and spent a full day trying to get the emulator to make the link cable work so I could get all the starting pokemons. Some bug caused the emulator to repeatedly crash but I got it to work twice, and that was all I needed.I was so happy I went and told all my friends how my hard work had paid off

Pokemon is awesome. It's a bit too easy, though, I wish they would make a pokemon game for the more seasoned player, and not a handheld game, I'm a grown man, I don't play handhelds anymore. If there is ever a pokemon mmorpg, I'm there.

I played pokemon up til Ruby and Sapphire

By then it was just lost for me. I tried Diamond and couldn't get into it. I'll still play the old red/blue gold/silver generations though.

Pokemon is a very good RPG imo

I went for the top option - I'm happy to tell people that I play Pokémon, although I don't go around talking about it cause not many of my friends do. Nevertheless it still remains one of the best turn-based RPGs out there in my opinion. Oh and I don't intend to play Mystery Dungeon as it isn't the same style, although I do have Pinball and the Trading Card Game.
