You're not allowed to think Sony are the devil, seeing as how they single-handily made games into art. So very many people forget that without them, its unlikely the whole concept would be around.

And its a number of other factors, particularly Activisions statements that they want to exploit the game. Like I said, a game designed to be beaten with the sequel stick year in, year out raises a number of red flags for me.

Whereas the guy in Prototype has the personality of a piece of old fruit.

And you'll notice how Prototype didn't even bother to create a new city. Also, the fact that its fallen into anarchy would make it a little different to New York.
I am allowed to think Sony are the devil, with their exploding laptop batteries, spyware PSPs and the overall shitty treatment of their consumers.

All companies want to exploit games, Nintendo with Mario, Zelda and Metroid, Sony with God Of War, Resistance and Metal Gear and Microsoft with Halo, Gears Of War and Fable.

I kind of respect Activision in a way for at least being honest about it.

We don't actually know much about the guy from Prototype, the only thing that's been shown is his powers. His personality can be assumed to be pretty fucked up, though. I hear memory loss does that to you.
I love the way Sucker Punch is approaching morality with inFamous, though. Good or evil, you still save the city. Marvelous.

The makers actually addressed why they didn't make up a unique city in a video, you'll probably call it covering ass, but it sounds legitimate to me.
"We chose New York because it's real. You could've had this game set on Mars in the year 2215 and people would be like 'do they have a lot of shape shifters on Mars in 2215" and they wouldn't really care. We want this game to feel like it's happening in a real city, not some fantasy world."

I've probably quoted it wrong, but that's the basic meaning I believe he was trying to convey.

Prototype as I don't own a PS3. But to be honest Prototype looks a bit too much "SuperMewgaAresomeWithSprinkles"

Both of them sound like they could have HUGE potential, I just hope they don't get screwed up before they are even released. I am so happy that there could be another game that will exhibit good/evil choices, but the thought of being some creepy shapeshifter thing sounds pretty brutal, too.

I can't decide.

I'm getting both.

Reasons? They are radically different games.

Prototype is an Action/Open World game with light RPG elements.

inFAMOUS is an Open World/RPG with heavy action elements.

Comparing them is like comparing Mass Effect with Lost Odyssey; it doesn't work.

inFAMOUS is an action RPG, and so isn't as likely to just show off everything that it does in every screenshot. Remember that you can still glide, create a meteor drop, call down lightning strikes, and form blades of electricity.

Dunno, this just seems a lot more interesting to me.

Prototype looks more fun, but inFamous looks like there'll be deeper consequences for your actions. In know every triple-A title has a good/evil metre now, but the team behind inFamous have mentioned it explicitly (think there was a video about it on Joystiq), so hopefully it'll be done well.

Action games are fun, but do like social realism as well. If all you do in Prototype is leap and round and blow shiz up then I'm not sure whether this will feature very strongly.

So when Sucker Punch plays its cards to its chest, this is a sign of weakness in the product, but when Prototype shows signs of deliberately hiding an aspect, we must assume? Hypocritical much?
When the product is interactive entertainment, and they make a poor showing of the interactive portions of it, yes.

The correct way to produce a gameplay video for a trailer is to turn all the powers on and make the character do as many fuckawesome things as they can, because it makes people want to actually do those things.

It is not, as the gameplay videos of inFamous show, to show how repetitive you can make the game by only using one power over and over and how lacking your animation is.

Prototype is just another Hulk Ultimate Destruction; with a cooler power, set better engine, and the ability to use vehicals, and guns. Strip it down and its just another hulk game.
That's like saying it's like sex with your first girlfriend, except now she's all grown up, has a porn star body and is really filthy in bed.

I fail to see how "Hulk: Ultimate Destruction but even better" is a remotely bad thing.
Ok having sex with your girlfriend twice once before she learned the porn star ropes and once after she has already been over-fucked in other words you have been here before. Its just more shiny cleavage......

Fuck it, I think inFamous doesn't look impressive, I dislike Sony, don't own a PS3 and I like the look of Prototype. Why am I trying to argue?

I'll be getting Prototype, I don't have a ps3 but even if I did I wouldn't get Infamous. For me it doesn't seem that action-packed, fast paced and always-something-blowing-up experience that Prototype looks like it'll offer.

The thing that most draws me to prototype is some of the abilities, and the "Web of Intrigue" mechanic. Forgive me for the horrible pun, but it seems intriguing.
