I remember when first told about rule 34 by a friend, I challenged him to find some Dead Space porn.

Rule 34 gives me some small hope of my relationship prospects for the future. I may be disastrously ugly, but maybe there's a fetish for that, too.

Pretty much don't care as long as I don't have to look. Problem is that one form of this is illegal in quite a few countries now. I know of no other law that applies to drawings which makes it a bit dumb. Oh, I suppose there must be laws somewhere about representations of Mohamed. It seems this problem could be easily rectified by turning safesearch on.

as I said in a different comment that didn't help I looked up croconaw after turning it on as a test and I immedietly saw a picture of a croconaw with what I can only presume was a large malformed purple penis corvered in what the tags called "spooge"

If you don't want to see it... you probably won't see it. It's not like you accidentally stumble upon porn without knowing what you're getting into. Search engines have optional filters to keep this kind of thing away from those who don't want it. And for those who do, it's just as easy to find as taking off those filters and poking around a bit. Which I think is good, there's really no downside.
