I drink the water that comes out of my fridge... it's filtered, but I don't like to drink water directly from the tap, it tastes funny. So... other?

We drink bottled water here in Yuma, Primarily because the tap water tastes of sulfur, so yeah, I'm just going to disregard your advice.

What would you expect the water in hell to taste like?
Barring the obvious answer that a place of torment such as hell would probably not contain water in the first place, I would say Cherry flavored Kool-Aid, that stuff is disgusting.

I drink bottled because I'm sick for days if I drink the tap water from my house.
Also, you can recycle plastic, as far as I'm aware.
Cool story. For about $10 you can get a bottle of Polar Pure, which treats 2,000 quarts of water at 1/2 a cent per quart. How much is 2,000 quarts of bottled water?
Probably a lot more.
Also, Polar Pure is a strictly american product. We can't get it over here in Europe.

Not in stores, but it's sold online or you can order directly from the company. Not like it's the only brand of purifier in the world either.

Bottled, of course. It's cheap and if you know where to buy, it tastes great.

if your tap water is clean then its actually much better for you than bottled water. most bottled water is hypotonic when compared to your bodily fluids so you actually lose valuably salts and other water-soluble nutrients if you drink it a lot (i think dasani is the one thats closest to being isotonic to the human body). tap water also has added flourine which helps with tooth and bone strength, so thats another plus.

PS- bottled water is essentially tap water fun through a few more filters... the extra filtration doesnt make it any better than clean tap water, just more expensive

Once again, Skeptoid has a nice episode on this:

Furthermore, I drink tap water because (in most Western countries if I'm correct, and at least here) it's completely harmless and bottled water is just a waste of money in my opinion.

Where I work I am only allowed to drink out of clear containers. Which is pretty much bottles only. I'm not a big fan of drinking 3 bottles of soda pop in a day. My wife-in-training made me feel guilty about bottled water a few months ago and now I have a reusable thick plastic bottle. Although I lost or acidentally threw like 3 of them away so far.

Mmmm...

Boil water in ~5 minutes, let it cool for ~5 minutes, and you look like a 19th century housewife.

Not hard, just appears to be a stupid idea.

*licks his Brita filter*
You are soo right, boiling water to kill the germs is a dumb idea!

Biting sarcasm aside, I don't trust the filters...if they ever developed a water based filter similar to an air ionizing filter, then sure, or just a basic sand filter...y'know, like how Nature does it?

I don't like bottled water. Not because of the pollution aspect, but because if you keep drinking/eating off of plastic items you increase the risk of cancer.

I drink tap water when I can but when on campus and I'm thirsty I don't have much choice, so I buy bottled. However, our student union held a referendum in February and one of the motions that wa passed was to ban bottled water in the university and set up drinking fountains. I haven't seen any sign of the union following through on this so far, but there should be a mention next week in the student newspaper apparently so I'll probably find out more when it's published next Friday...

I was really thirsty at school so I bought a bottle of water from the cantine.
I re-fill that bottle from the tap whenever it's empty. I've had the same bottle for about 6 months now.

Or maybe that was a joke? Look on the internet jokes don't travel well so put a ":)" or something that way if people do point it out you have proof you where kidding. Or maybe The Onion is in fact a reliable source of info...
