You are making me choose between counter-strike and Battlefield 2? These polls are always supposed to be one-sided, super easy choice deals. Now I have to choose between a large scale, team-focused tactical shooter with vehicles to a competitive, faster-paced team-focused tactical shooter.

Honestly, it's a really hard choice. I think I'm gonna have to vote for Battlefield because of my hype for Battlefield 3 (despite probably playing more Counter-Strike: Source than Battlefield 2, Bad Company 2, and any of the free to play ones combined).

I prefer playing Crysis 2, unfortunatly CoD is where all my FPS friends are and they either don't play or don't care about Crysis so although I prefer Crysis I play CoD more because I like playing in teams.

Crap Voted before I read all the choices. Just move one vote from Halo to Team Fortress 2.

The only game I would answer with would be L4D2. Since it's co-op online I enjoy it.

Halo's my #1 on that list.

No other FPS I've played has it's unique combination of variety, depth, and accessability.

TF2 might come close to contending with it if it was still good on 360 but Valve being shit on the console drops it down since I have to play it on my laptop.

Fair enough, I just think Valve have taken the "this is a Half-Life mod but we'll make you pay full retail price for it as if its a standalone game" craze too far.

I thought the original Half-Life did have multiplayer, just pretty pants multiplayer?

Yeah Team Fortress was in Quake, but I meant Team Fortress the first Half-Life version.

Kind of strange that I forgot about Q:TF - but I only played it a couple of times.

I was all about TDM :)

I'm a halo guy, I admit and I don't really mind that I am, I dislike CoD and I enjoyed Halo Reach. In my opinion Jetpacks > Shooting through walls.

Except Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 are just Half-Life 2 Mods

So technically you would be voting for "The Half-Life Series" if the vote was modified

The only three of these I've ever had the chance of playing online are CoD, Battlefield, and Halo. Of those, I far more enjoyed Halo, even though CoD can be very fun in moderation too, especially playing with friends. Battlefield I didn't really play enough to form a solid opinion of. Halo's gameplay is (and this is not intended to be flame-bait, I swear) in my opinion more conducive to a slower, more tactical style of gameplay that I like, without losing any excitement.

However, I'd like to play Crysis 2 online when I get the chance. From the single player campaign, it feels like it'd be pretty sweet.

'Cause that wouldn't fit into the list, since it isn't a serie it would look out of place. (and many find it a piece of garbage, but I'll not give into temptation)
Oh yeah, because MAG is totally a series.

It has to be Halo right now. Cause I only have a 360 and I've never really played any of the other game series on the list. Had a bit of a go at CoD:WaW, MW2 and Black Ops but I found them infuriating to the point where they cost me a controller.

I do intend on trying out Battlefield 3 when it's released though.
I find Halo to be more infuriating than any CoD game I have played, maybe because I suck at Halo?(not big time, just compared to the regulars).

Thing is I could pick up a game of CoD and instantly be good, positive Kill/ Death ratio and everything, any other Multi player game, I have to practice for a week.

My FPS of choice is Day of Defeat: Source. It feels less arcade-y than counter strike with control point style game play and the potentially long and drawn out battles feel like a war rather than a short skirmish which to me is more immersive. Plus, nothing is better than hearing the sharp ping of your bullet hitting your opponents helmet.
Same; I've been playing a good amount of DOD:S recently. I'm an expert at snap-shooting rifle grenades into the small windows that snipers shoot from. :-D

Honorable mention to a few Source mods, and some Half-Life mods: Firearms: Source and Insurgency for games that I believe do Modern Warfare better than Modern Warfare, and The Specialists, Goldeneye: Source and Dystopia for fast-paced action.

Plan Of Attack was very fun, but it hasn't seen a release since 2005; there's a new team that's recently taken over from the original devs though, so maybe we'll see something soon.

Halo 2 is my favorite multiplayer game of all time. Overall all I love the multiplayer in all the Halo games have, Halo 3 was the weakest but even that was really good

I've tried CoD MW2 and BlOps. BF:BC2 and Halo 1.

I have to go with Halo. *Maximum Flame Shield*

Although the latest CoD games suck, CoD2 was the highlight of the series. Still play it fairly regularly. :)

None of the above.

For the past 6 years the only multiplayer FPS I've played a lot (besides Left 4 Dead, and that's more cooperative) is Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45. It's an intense, in-depth, team-based tactical shooter developed by a mod team turned professional developers.

Besides that, I just don't like multiplayer shooters, generally. Too many cheaters, too many people who play way too much and know all the glitch spots, and too much trashtalking. I enjoyed Call of Duty back in its early days (COD1's expansion, United Offensive, was the peak of the series), but now... bleh.
