Portal 2 on PC or Xbox?
I'm torn between the two

PC Pro:
- Mods
- Cross co-op with PC and PS3 users

PC Con:
- Not guranreteed to look great

Xbox Pro:
- It will look great out of the box
- XBL co-op would have the majority of friends
- Game pad (I'm not buying a wired one for the PC)

Xbox Con:
- No mods
- Limited updates
- Arguably fewer people to co-op with

PC specs:
Dell Studio XPS 8000
Processor: Intel Core i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80 GHz 2.79 GHz
RAM: 4 GB
64-bit OS
NVIDIA GeForce GT 220

Poll is messed up, I would call it a fail, but the PC elitist in me says its kinda of a win.

I, however, need to know your graphics card (in your computer) before I can make my final judgement.

Considering the specs of the rest of your laptop, the graphics card can't be that bad.

PC easily. Especially considering how well optimised the Source engine is. And its cheaper on PC.

'Not guranreteed to look great' with your specs? really?
'Game pad' there are game pads for PC too.
Also your poll is rigged.

Could you post your graphics card? It's pretty difficult to make a performance call without knowing your video card's specs.

I'd go with PC (not including performance), just because Portal tends to be a fast game and you can easily aim faster and with more precision with a mouse than a keyboard. And I tend to be more of a PC guy.

With those PC specs, it is pretty much guaranteed to look great.

I'm useless with specs
I'm not buying another game pad

If those are your PC specs then you shouldnt worry about it not looking great, it will at least play.

I would go for the Steam version, as it will be cheaper, with the downside of the download time.

I'm torn between the two

PC Pro:
- Mods
- Cross co-op with PC and PS3 users
- Will look great on a gaming PC, even an old one.
- Can use mouse and keyboard to get proper control
- Steam!!

PC Con:
- you have to sit at a desk

Xbox Pro:
- It will look consistent on all xboxs
- XBL co-op would have the majority of friends

Xbox Con:
- Game pad
- No mods
- Limited updates
- Arguably fewer people to co-op with
- no mouse and keyboard (Epic fail)

PC specs:
Dell Studio XPS 8000
Processor: Intel Core i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80 GHz 2.79 GHz
RAM: 4 GB
64-bit OS

There, I fixed that for you.

If you must use a game pad why not just use your 360 controller? I use a 360 controller on my PC for some games. It has this smll adapter cable to let it plug into a USB port.

PC.

Gamepad is not a pro and there will be nothing to argue about which platform will have more people to co-op with.

Plus your PC is way more than capable of running the Source engine maxed so it will look better than the Xbox version.

PC mate, with that card, I have a hard time believing it will look worse than an Xbox, I would be mildly surprised if it looked just as good, cause with the right configuring, you should be able to make it look better.

Decide for yourself, OP. [http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/]

But, if at all possible, PC.

If its a wired pad you can use it with the PC, although the game would benefit from the use of a mouse and keyboard.

This question is basically "What platform do you prefer?"
I can't say as I have never played the first one so i don't know what it works better on. But, considering there are mostly PC gamers on here, you will get a lot of those answers.

From Dell (assuming he didn't fiddle with it):
Watch your screen transform into lifelike reality with standard ATI 4350 graphics or optional NVIDIA GeForce graphics up to 1.8 GB. Choose from NVIDIA GeForce GT220 or NVIDIA GeForce GTS240 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX260 with 3D capabilities.
